View Full Version : Corpse Recovery Options?

Hey Folks,
Avicious (IGN) here. I'm a level 8 Human SK from Freeport and decided to travel to Innothule swamp to scout out some spiderlings I've heard rumors about.
Problem: The guards at the Grobb zoneline killed me. I could theoretically make the trip again, but what I'm not sure is, if I'm able to get past the guards at the zoneline that killed me (JUST BEFORE ZONING INTO GROBB! UGH!)
Anyway, before I make this dreadful trip again, could anyone offer me some advice on retrieving my corpse?

Barnabas, I'd hang out in the zone till a player walks by and you could ask them to drag it away from the guards. Or create a level 1 Troll and /consent that new toon from your SK.

Create a Troll that starts in Grobb
Swap back to your level 8 Human and type: /consent Your_Troll_Name
Swap to your Troll and drag your Human to safety. Can make a macro for /corpse to drag
You can consent offline characters, so your able to consent your own alts and do your own CRs. This gets even better when you have a high level character that can rescue your low level characters

Wow. Thanks everyone. I just learned a ton of strategies from you! Kalam from Dial-A-Port took me to the Feerrott and Euthanize dragged my corpse away. Good times! I thought this was going to be a nightmare and didn't even think about some of these options.
You guys rock. Thanks everyone for offering to help. I'm loving P1999 so far. You people are great! :)

That would have been really useful on Live. I lost a 54 mage in The Hole and for some reason it took like 3 days to get enough help to recover.

Cannot drag corpses in Kael though without getting aggro.

Do it a little bit at a time, bind there with ogre shaman. No xp loss for level 5. Voila

Brell Religion starts out Dubious *non kos* to the earth elementals / rock Golems in The Hole
Halfling rogue is the only rogue that starts with both Sneak and Hide at level 1 - Despite being racial sneak and hide because they are rogue it functions as if it was rogue hide from level 1 thus granting Normal invis, and Invis versus undead
These 3 together combine
See Invis Elemental casters wont attack you because - Brell relgion
Rat people wont attack you because - Hide (Invis)
Ghosts wont attack you because - Hide (Invis vs undead) *rogue hide only*

Spiderlings are in Feerrott, btw. Right next door to Innothule. They're all over the place!

Holy shit, talk about utility. :eek: My lack of Rogueish knowledge is definitely showing. Had no idea that those skills essentially upgrade themselves from the start in that way.

You can exploit this combo to allow you to hand in a Shiny Metallic Robe to whomever you hand it into to get the upgraded version (if you're lucky and it works and you don't get the consolation prize). Your rogue will be insta-killed once you've done it, but it still works.
Make sure you hand it in from behind the mob so it doesn't aggro on you as you try the trade. But yeah, level 1 halfling rogue has a ton of surprises :)

For what it's worth, you do lose xp at level 5.
I have a halfling rogue to make recorpsing HS keys for long periods of time more convenient since I can just log in and run straight into the cliff golem and log out.
Due to the OT level requirement I had to get him to level 5 to get him into the zone and bound at the outpost. After a few deaths he deleveled to level 4, but since he's bound in the zone it lets me zone back in after death. Kael is probably the same way.
