Broom of Trilon needs fixing

Hello all.

To cut to the chase, classic EQ's Broom of Trilon was right clickable for all races/classes and is not right-clickable on the Project 1999 server.

I played a Shaman back in the day and had my Broom of Trilon for the right clickable Reclaim Energy effect. I was disappointed to find that the item is not right clickable on the Project 1999 server. I am posting this hoping the garner enough support and make a justifiable case to make the item right-clickable for all classes.

Back in the day I did the quest when I was in Kunark, so I know that the item was right-clickable for all classes at least up until the first expansion. I think Sony changed the item a few expansions later, making the "new" Brooms magician only, although I was still able to use mine after that change. I think they changed the quest around Luclin, although I'm not certain about when the change occurred (partly because I had it already and wasn't keen on when the quest was changed so I'm just remembering this from patch notes).

Did anybody else use the Broom of Trilon, other than magicians? Can we have this looked into? It was a critical part of my character back in the day.

Since shamans never get a reclaim energy spell, the reclaim energy right-clickable on the broom (or any of the mage focus items) is very nice. I keep my broom with me whenever I think I'll be using my pet.

From a Troll Shaman PvP guide (http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20020607192806/http://www.notacult.com/guide_trollshaman.html), the earliest rendition I found of it was early 2002, but that still means it was in the game at that point. I'm willing to bet that it was inventory click from the start up until some point, but this is the best evidence I can find that it, in fact, was available. This one actaully is quoting information about the Shovel of Ponz, which leads me to think all four of the items were inventory clickable

Yes, I know it [Shovel of Ponz] is a magician only item, but Shaman can use the effect of reclaim energy from a general inventory slot. Reclaim Energy kills your pet, but gives you mana (depending on the amount of HP your pet has). Awesome for emergencies when you need an extra 200 mana, or for when you need to zone and your pet would die anyway.

Please give us reclaim energy, its bad enough our pets are almost always green at 51! Not a new spell until 55 either (i.e. a lot of recasts unless its a group)!

Actually, there is another post (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11290&page=3)for this same issue I found while searching for more evidence of the proc being usable for non-mages.

Ugh. THought I had finished this one. I remember crunching some numbers, and writing some code.

Let me add this back to my list.

The post doesn't say it was resolved, but it seems to have been deemed worth of fixing. Is it still on the list?

OK folks I went and got my broom back out of the bank and gave it a whirl. IT WORKED!!!

I suppose I should have given this a try before posting this. I did this quest last month and it didn't work then, but must have been updated since then.

Mine didn't work, or I wouldn't have wasted time researching. Guess Ill check after work, perhaps fixed last night?

Not sure when they fixed it but it was within the last few weeks because I only did the quest maybe 3 weeks ago.

I'm glad I banked it with the hopes that it would be fixed one day. Sure enough here we are, got my classic item back for use with my shammy :)
