Then go and spend like 80k on a mana stone when they could space out the money and accomplish 10 times more. In my mind its like going to a bar and buying the most expensive bottle of champagne they have to get drunk when I could go to the liquor store before hand , get a four loko or 2 for 3 dollars and be hammered . I guess it all stems back to how rich people act in real life, blowing tons of cash in retarded ways..... just because they can.

But what if they want a manastone?

20 or 30 modrods != manastone

People have been playing this game the last two years 24/7. After you level a couple characters to 50 what else is there to accomplish but farm tons of plat? Its like a guy with a good job who makes 150k a year... He is a cheap bastard who keeps all his money and drives a 93 chevy la baron or a baller who drives a 2010 escalade on 24s. In all what does it matter to you cause he doesnt pay your bills here or in real life.

2010 escalade on 24s.

The guy with a good job who makes 150k a year is a rapper?

The 'getting drunk' analogy is weak. That's like asking, why spend $50 on a nice steak dinner when you could get full off a cup-o-ramen?

I just really want to know how the OP is weighing the accomplishment of buying a manastone against this other, mysterious amount of accomplishment he would reach with the 80k spent over a period of time.

Play the EC market for months and then have 800k and buy 10 manastones?

Poor analogy. It's more like already owning 12 different kinds of breweries and deciding to purchase an established vineyard in Napa Valley. You don't buy the manastone for a single consumption - you buy it for the utility it provides that can be found basically NOWHERE ELSE for certain classes. It's in no way a "novelty" item.

I guess it all stems back to how rich people act in real life, blowing tons of cash in retarded ways..... just because they can.

My bet is you personally know very few - if any - rich people if you really think this is how all - or even most rich people act.

If you are only spending 2-3 dollars on liquor to get drunk, clearly you are doing it VERY wrong.

Enjoy your headache.
