The Al'Kabor Project is launching Luclin Expansion today (july 25th)
I know a few people here want some luclin action & I just want to say the best place to find luclin content will be TAKP. You can find more details on their website.

The staff on TAKP are very professional and have years of experience working on the eqemu code. You may even recognize a dev or two over there. ;)
Players are friendly and willing to help new comers get started. There are a few active raiding guilds.

I want to play but I want to main warrior and not box. I am lvl 47. I am hoping I can leech exp off of lvl 60 AA grinders now and make my bones ERPing instead of running 3 characters. Baler, PM if ur open to this sort of arrangement

Not everyone boxes on takp despite them allowing 3 box. (However most people 2 box and have 1 trader in the bazzar full time) So you absolutely could within reason solo play a warrior on TAKP. Not everyone is level 60(65) so there are plenty of groups to be had prior to max level. I'm not sure about the AA grind tbh, luclin is brand new to me.

While I respect your style. F9 & Alt+Numpad keys enables a bunch of advanced camera angles. R99 uses these to gain advantage over other people, the same can be used on TAKP. :)

There's nothing with the concept of Luclin or the idea of going to a moon, it's a typical high fantasy trope and the groundwork for alien life was introduced with the flying saucer as a temple in Qeynos. Luclin was hit and miss. Many good ideas and many bad ideas. I loved the interconnected overland zones and dungeon along with the subterranean city and cave system that connected the underworld to the overworld. Everything else from mob placement, raiding, artificial grind bullshit, lore/factions per mob, dungeon layouts ect all felt rushed and sloppy. Should've given the expansion an additional six months before release.

The moon lags really bad on my tablet. Kinda almost as bad as it did when I shelled out $1000 for dual GeForce 6800s I forgot what they called linking them together...

Anyway. No one really has that much time for this game... Maybe 3k out of 7billion ppl. So it's just not a big enough deal to write about it, except maybe the 10 ppl that post here and made characters on takp.

I think if I had 1000 years left, I could see to devoting 10 more to EQ. Not sure though. I mean I could just post here until the anorexia gets severe. Again idk.

I'm not inclined to be really proud of myself if I am in luclin / pop in 15 more years.

I never did understand the 'not enough time for EQ' argument. Maybe if the only goals you have in the game are to kill dragons; but unlike most MMORPGs, EQ's leveling period is as much of the game as the raiding is.

P99 launched in 2009. Is 9 years not enough time to reach level 60 for a casual player? You'd want the level cap to take some time if the content is static.

TAKP has large experience multipliers because AK had a 20% server bonus, the Ykesha era group bonus, and bugged experience gains for 4-6 people. If you have a 4+ member group, you'll be making about 2.6 times the exp rate as you would have in 2002. Exp in PoP gets faster still because of the high level kill bonus and PoP ZEMs.

TAKP also rotates raid content, so people can (and do) log in at the scheduled raid time, play for a 2-3 hours, and log off.

I'd also argue that if you camp something in EQ that allows for significant AFK time, then it's not 'bad design' or whatever; it's just different. If you camp a spawn that requires attention for 5 minutes out of every 30, then you're not really playing the game for 30 minutes. EQ doesn't prevent alt-tabs anymore.
