View Full Version : Best race for Paladin Fasionquest

After years of being a white knight I decided it's time to play one in a game. One of the biggest deliberations for me is ABSOLUTELY looks since it has to reflect my high IRL charisma. All other considerations for me are irrelevant. Please help. Tell me which race you believe is the best LOOKING Paladin and state your reasons (Classic Paladins only).

KTHX

you are an iksar war, no matter what you do it will be a downgrade.

like a house to an apartment downgrade

Well yeah. When I want to be awesome I click on <Project 1999: Blue (Velious PvE) 1176> on server select and hit <Play Everquest!> then once that is finished loading I click on the <Draconite> tab six or seven times to see his various attacks whilst spinning then press <Enter World>.

But I need something to pick up on the G-string half elven hotties and the best way is with a Good Guy White Knight Paladin of the most fashionable variety.

Good catch there buddy. Dragon hat is HIGH quality FQ although he's a warrior (and no longer uses dragon hat sadly).

+1 brownie 4 u!

Erudite looks the best for sure. But that may play against the White Knight aura you are going for

Negative, Eruidte velious armor shading and custom helms are broken on p99:

Bump, so many bugs with custom helmets. Just look at the poor Erudites for example.. Not only the clipping issues but the female Erudite visor should be transparent (see right). It is nearly 100% opaque on P99 (left).

if you are trying to pick up on elf chicks in the mist of greater faydark you need to look like a seasoned traveler and trained fighter, human is by far the best looking. half elf and dwarf are 2 and 3 fairly close too.

Erudite is the best looking paladin and its not even a close contest. Stats wise high elf or dwarf are the best but if we're only basing it on looks erudite wins easily.

Erudite is the worst paladin statistically which is why they made them the boss at fashionquest.

Dont try to argue, you're wrong. Erudite wins all fashionquest contests.

No paladin is even close to erudite in terms of looks.

Erud00ds winning by a large margin. Will the humans or halfas make a comeback? stay tuned.

I'd say human, gold velious scale-plate with custom helmet and epic (fire sword) is pretty much winning fashion quest

However iksar shaman with PD robe, spear and orb of infin void is also sexy

Paladins are the only human plate race which cannot wear the gold velious scale armor. They get a blue version from pohate. Shadowknights? Yep, they get the gold set, warriors and bards too. But not Paladins. Someone explain this.

Fashionquest = How not to look like the class you play?

(plate druids, cloth paladins, etc)

Regarding Erudite custom helms, the helm still have the bug where the cloth shows underneath the plate part of the helm (the cloth should be gone), but the female helm HAS been fixed so that you can see the face, if you use the EQClassic HD (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280545) textures. Here's my female erudite with custom helm, along with a more distant shot, and an image with 1h + shield of the stalwart seas. Lastly, if you want that deep blue "lambent bard with erudite mask" look, try the righteous armor from hate. I only have the legs, boots, arms and wrist so far, but you can probably work fine steel into that to get some kind of comic book superhero look:

Human or High Elf obviously, best custom helmets. Just don't wear a robe on the High Elf, that looks horrible.
