Ok so I played on live a little bit for about 2 1/2 years in 2014-2015 I was 14 yrs old and at that time never really understood the game always watched my uncle played. I play on the Coirnav Server TLP but over the last month I have taken a liking to P99 due to watching streams on Twitch and a youtuber. My only struggle is the zones there is no in game maps and I use that on the reg to travel, so if anyone is available to walk me through it that would be great, beings I am a new player I have never raided before and would definitely like to get into the raiding aspect of the game as it offers some really good loot and trying to beat some of the games hardest bosses up to Velious and also having fun taking on a creature with 30-60 people and trying to communicate with one another. I do have a lot of playtime, I have Discord and I enjoy talking with people and grouping and being very active to the game. Thank You For Your Time!

Welcome to P99.
As you noticed, there are no ingame maps because this game is oooold.
You will miss a lot of things. You have to print or open on antoher screen maps you need and use coordinates to navigate.
First of all you should have a look at the P99 Wiki:
http://wiki.project1999.com/
Also this is nice to read at the beginning:

EQ can make a lot of fun, but there is one thing you realy need: patience
Read, ask in the forum or ingame chat. Everybody is helping. I just came here a few weeks ago and i am amazed who nice people act with each other.

It takes a while to get used to not having a map again, but you learn pretty quickly once the crutch is taken away. One of the first things I noticed when coming back is how much of the game world I was missing when I just ran through all those zones with the map open.
If you're concerned about getting lost, one thing a lot of us do, if you have the means, is to play with a window open on the wiki to check the map of whatever zone you're in. Put it on a second monitor, keep it open on a tablet, or go old school and just tab over when you need a glance. Really helps out a lot until you get more familiar with the content.
