New to EQ, playing an iskar warrior. Missing like 50% of my attacks on whites. Any way to miss less at low levels?

Accuracy is based on your weapon skills (and mob avoidance) as offence and your weapon type skills improve so will your accuracy.

Dont worry thats normal. Eq is a little differerent then modern stuff, and you will miss a lot! Us and mobs are like flailing blind people trying to box

It'll happen a lot at lower levels.

You can also hide the text from popping up in options. It can get spammy.

Like all others said, yes, it can get spammy and it is pretty normal, it will get much better with higher level in the related weapon skills you are using, be it 1 handed blunt or 1handed slashing or 2 handed slashing, etc.

Iksars have some interesting warrior quests, if you like questing

And just in case, the warrior section has a ton of nice info on warriors :

Glad to see more Iksar warriors around, love the lizzies! :)

And Kunark is just awesome!

^ This. You'll find that as your Offense skill increases, and you get better with your weapon, you'll be landing hits more often. It might be worth taking a quick trip to the Warrior trainer and dumping a couple training points in those skills to get you started.

After you level up some, you'll also notice a stark difference in how often and how hard you hit lowbie greens ("always" and "for a truckload") vs. how often and how hard you hit reds and yellows ("practically never" and "like an anemic fly").

Welcome to GrindQuest. Takes a lot of time to build up a character, but the eventual payoff is tremendous.

Also, may wanna avoid white mobs and stick to greens / blues. It'll be more efficient / more XP per hour.

Unless of course you're somehow twinked or grouping with some folks!

Weapon skills play a part but your misses are basically rolled all up into 1 stat, your attack which is rolled against mobs defense (dodge, block, riposte, level difference, ac etc etc). Increase your attack by keeping weapon skills maxed out and increasing your strength (later on can get items with +attack as well...think 46+ basically)

+attack items and spells don't improve the 'accuracy' component of attack.

any attack period increases your chance at hitting a mob....roll is made for hit or miss, then goes through rolls for dodge block riposte parry (been far to long to remember order), then if hit is successful after all of that d20 is rolled and added to damage interval and compared against npc ac to determine damage done

I should add that increases to attack rating don't really show a noticeable difference....generally need a fairly significant increase to notice a large difference in dps output, as well there seem to be certain amounts that return a much larger increase....breaking 1300 atk for instance comes to mind
