Yes, even before anyone says "Did you look at the guide?", i have. Ive done what it said by downloading that file, moving it to the EQ directory, putting it in the folder, and extracted it. But i still cant play, can someone tell me if there was anything i missed. And could they post the steps of what to do. It would be greatly appreciated!

You more than likely have Windows 7 or even Vista.

Sometimes you can't update the folders when they are under Programs. Move the Sony/Eq file to under your main drive then try it.

I use vista. Have to disable UAC to be able to copy files into your main directory

To be honest, i really have no idea what that means, im not exactly computer smart, and yes, i have vista also. Could you possibly elaborate a bit more?

I didnt have to do this shit with the UAC before, i do not know know to unzip the files, and whatever else you have to do. Im sorry if i sound like im getting frustrated, but i dont know what to do. If someone who has Vista could tell me what they exactly did with the spell file update, it would be great. All i want to do is be able to play kunark like everyone else.

I run on vista 64bit, and all I had to do was double click the download and extract it to the everquest main directory, and click yes to overwriting the files that are there. It worked fine for me.

Why do people not skim through the tech forum?

For 20th time... look in my signature... follow the link.. use the automated installer. You could have been up and running hours ago if you did that.

I'm having the same problem.....I tried downloading this and when I selected the folder my EQ files are in it says "That is not the correct EverQuest directory". What am I doing wrong?

3 things:

1) Did you install Titanium Client?
2) Is it installed in Program Files? If so, move it to C:\
3) Go inside the folder and make sure zone files and eqgame.exe is in there.

you need to go into the eqemulauncher options and point it to the directory with the "EQgame.exe" in it, that is your EQ root directory ...

Yes it's installed under C:\...would it make a difference if the files are compressed into CAB files?

well if the files are compressed into a CAB file its not installed yet is it? ..

and if it is installed in the default path it should be C:\Program Files (X86)\Sony\Everquest\

you would point to this directory, since the eqgame.exe should be in there, if there is no eqgame.exe in there you can not start the game and all patching it moot ;)
