so I think I have all my files needed and account created. I created my toon and locked up after choosing a name.
its possible the server went down, but unlikely.
its saying a connection to the server could not be made as if my net is down, but it clearly is not? any suggestions?

Definitely try disabling your firewall just to rule it out as a problem. If it's that, have a play with the firewall settings and what it lets through.

Then if you're on a wireless connection and have an ethernet cable handy (with the ability to plug it into your PC/laptop) try it from a wired connection.

If all that checks out, have you tried one of the other EQ emulator servers? (PEQ or Hidden Forest maybe), just to isolate it as a possible issue with P99's location and you.

For instance, trying to make a Gnome SK or Paladin will cause the client to crash. Pick which class you want, then go to the Wiki to ensure the races you have in mind are playable on this server.

Same for Halfling Ranger, it gives "You have been disconnected" message.
