Heya fellow p99ers.

I was thinking it would be awesome if we could get the wiki updated with screenshots of all the different robes in the game.

Cease the opportunity to immortalize your awesome toons with a screenshot for the wiki !

I'm sure people who are experienced with updating the wiki would love to help if you post the screenshots here.

Indeed. If people can post the exact name of the robe they're wearing along with their screenshot I'd be more than happy to look up the robe's fashion categories and add the screenshot to those categories on the wiki.

We're getting there, just very slowly. Right now if you go to http://wiki.project1999.com/index.php?title=Special:Search&limit=500&offset=0&redirs=1&ns14=1&ns500=1&ns502=1&search=Category%3AFashion%3A you'll see a big mess of categories that covery evey type of appearance of every item in the wiki. If you click on the blue/purple links you'll see at least one screenshot of what items in that category look like (or, for the color/tint categories, you might just see a block of that color).

But as you'll also see, there are a whole lot of categories that still have red links and no screenshots or color blocks, and those are the ones that need some work ... although of course the other categories could use more screenshots of other races/genders also. If anyone wants to provide screenshots for either I'm more than happy to add them to the wiki, but it's actually pretty easy to do it yourself if you want. All you have to do is edit a fashion category and paste the following in:

FashionShowEnd

except you need to change a few things:

each category only needs one: FashionShowEnd so if you're adding a second screenshot to an existing page don't copy/paste that bit
obviously you need to change the gender/race/armor to match the screenshot's gender/race/armor, and you need to change the fashion/tint to the names of the categories for that armor
(NOTE: in case it's confusing the "|fashion=Robe of the Kedge" part is because there is a category of robes called "Robe of the Kedge" ... which of course includes the actual "Robe of the Kedge" ... and the "Warlock's Robe" is also in that category)
if you're not wearing a robe be sure to mention whether you're wearing a full suit of the armor, or just most of it (eg. you can say something like "Full suit of Totemic Armor except for the feet which are Raw Leather Boots"
for the file just make up an appropriate name, then save the page; once you do there will be a link where the image should be, and you can click that link to upload the screenshot

... or just post the screenshot and name of the armor (again, if it's not a robe mention whether it's a full suit and if not what else you are wearing) and I can do the above for you.

Kind of off topic, but are there any caster chest armors with stats that AREN'T robes? It'd be nice to have the option to occasionally wear something other than a robe - but the items might not be out there.

Awesome. If anyone knows a private server with GM commands I can help with photos.

I used to use Morell Thule but it doesn't work anymore.

Oops, just realized that item shouldn't have a "Gray" tint category. It turns out Lucy (where I grabbed the tints from) had two items both named Ancient Wurm Hide Robe, and one (the wrong one) had a gray tint. Will fix.

Is that Ancient Wurm Hide Robe graphic taken from in-game?

I'm pretty sure the p99 version is just red, like the Plasmatic Priest Robe.

It's definitely just a red blank robe graphic on P99.

Ok removing the screenshot then; I guess we need to stick to player-made screenshots and not use ones from the web.

On the plus side though I wouldn't have noticed/fixed the item's color category without all this :)

Possibly also identified a bug that should be corrected as well, need to do more research.

*EDIT*

Robe graphic being what it is on P99 is classic.

But no +hp on the robe is painful. If it had +100 HP or so, it'd be a great robe. The real thing I dislike about the robe is how it looks - it is identical to a red senior apprentice robe. Yay.

Yeah so the problem is there are A LOT of items, and there's no way I could look at each one by hand. So I had to write a script, and that script had to use the only data source I could find: the Lucy database, which unfortunately also has lots of items from live that aren't on P99. As a result, my script sometimes mistook a live item for a P99 one (eg. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemlist.html?searchtext=ancient+wurm+hide+robe).

Mostly this wasn't a problem because even the duplicate-named items usually have the same fashion profile, but I say "mostly" because there likely still several more "bugs" like this one as a result of the above. They're very likely less than 1% of all the items, but still I'd love to get them fixed if anyone comes across one (and it will be much easier to notice when we have more screenshots displaying an item's actual color).

That is really interesting, because this is the first item I've heard of that actually had its look changed without becoming a new item. If you check Lucy (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemlist.html?searchtext=ancient+wurm+hide+robe) there are two Ancient Wurm Hide Robes: one is red, one is gray, but both have the "Robe of the Oracle" appearance. However it sounds like in classic the item probably had the http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Fashion:_Plain_Robe appearance.

Man I really hope this is a unique case (hopefully it's just an error in Lucy's data), because I've been assuming that Verant didn't randomly change the appearances of existing items ...

What's also interesting is that the AWHR was thought to have the exact same appearance as Miragul's Robe.

I'm pretty sure Miragul's Robe has the blood red Oracle style appearance on p99.

I think by law the pic for the robe of enshroudment should be at least with a dark elf in the background, and also the gloves/boots should be worn (with a possible exception for gebs if a dark elf is wearing the ensemble) as well as the scyth, thats an appropriate off hand, but a gbs would be ideal.

Not really sure. These images haven't been made by me. They were posted here in the past already.
From what I can tell these robes are the ones in game on p99 tho.

The appearances do look legit compared to p99 from what I've seen.
