Ganer smashes himself for 32000 damage

Anyone else remember this from classic? I was never a pet class but it seemed like when pets got dismissed they would “slash” themselves for 32k. Was that ever a thing here?

EDIT: Checking an old spdat.eff, only real change was going from increase atk by 10 to 10k

When I started playing my wizard Margo in march 1999 i stepped out of ak'anon like the 14 year old swedish boy I was with twinkling eyes of wonder. When out of the gates of hell a sound travels through the dry air of the stockholm appartment as Kekan hit himself for 32.000 hp and dies. A couple of seconds later my mom ran in cursing me for having too loud volume, I on the other hand had no concept of sound after being lost in tick tock town for 2 hours.

Yes! This stuff happened, but not being a pet class I have no idea what caused it to go down, and I never asked because I couldn’t imagine I’d still care 18 years later. But here I am, curious.
