Hello! I played EQ back during the Kunark expansion on live for several months. My highest character was a level 13 druid. Needless to say I was not very good. I have also played live in 2016 long enough to know that is not the experience I am looking for. I have also played p1999 before but only for a few days to get the feels.

Now that my favorite Ultima Online private server is shutting down I want to get into p1999 again. I am having issues running the client however. I tried another server that is up to Velious now but I don't like that they are planning on going to PoP+.

Anyway I am sure I will figure out the client issues.

Welcome back qbradq. If you are still having issues with the client, check out the Tech forums. Don't hesitate to post there if you aren't finding a resolution.

Thank you Issar! I have been trying to get the client to work off-and-on since Saturday. There was a post just after I was looking on the tech forum that suggested to disable Anti-Virus software for your p1999 directory. That worked! I'm already missing my corpse somewhere in the Feerrott :)

LOL, once you've lost a corpse, you are initiated! Congrats :)

The Feerrott is an especially good place to do that o_o

Honestly, don't worry about being bad at EQ... I'm 60 and still clumsy. :) Take it as an opportunity to explore and enjoy the game.

I recommend binding /loc to one of the movement keys, along with Sense Heading.

You can get into the options and bind sense heading and /loc to right and left keys. (also need to make a separate chat window and filter Other and Skills to it.) This way in the chat log it will always show when direction you are running, and where you last were should you die and need to find the corpse.

Can help a lot in the early days when loosing your corpse and running in circles is much more likely.
