So I'm going to get a couple more tattoos today, actually on both of my sides. I'm getting an owl in black ink with light shading on my left side, about 1.5 feet tall. On the right side I'm doing a Tree of Life in the same style black ink with light shading.

My question ! - Do you think I ought to speckle in some light green on the Tree of Life?

looks expensive, but the green might be pretty cool. i wonder how the green would look in 20 years though, perhaps just the black and white would be better.

yeah color looks awesome in the present but, if you don't seriously keep up with the shading, recoloring it will smudge and look like shit. When you say left side ? What do you mean ? Ribcage, shoulders, arms? You should put more thought into this, try asking some of your friends see what they think.

Well the green would just be lightly shaded onto the tree branches for the leaves, but I do like the black ink look.

Instead of green leaves maybe something autumn-like would look cool. Red/Orange/Yellow leaves.

Considering that it's the tree of "life" I guess adding some green would be a good idea. But like somebody else said color will be high maintenance in years to come.

I've always been partial to monochrome skin-art myself but it's nice seeing vibrant work on other people.
