I have a 54 Epic Ilsar MNK, and level 54 suck balls. I seldom get Hands groups in KC, I have no clue how to pull in seb or HS, and high keep is filled with SHMs who smoke pot, smell bad, and take all the mobs like illegal Mexicans at a labor exchange. Do you guys have any advixe as to making level 54 pass as quickly as possible?

Bats and Bugs or Lava Crawlers in SolB? Took Jimjam 400 sonic bats to do 54 solo :o. War, not monk though.

Any ideas for places to group? Speaking of groups, how hard is it to learn the pulls for level appropriate camps in old seb? I have a SHM who’s my solo bitch, and I figure now’s the time to start to learn more difficult pull, so long as I have an Epic CLR on hand to assist with the learning process.

throw a shuriken at a camp, run back to your party. if anything bad happens fd (so you don't die) and then blame your enchanter for not handling it.

Learning the pull as in where mobs spawn, or learning as in how to split? They're two different things.

Learning map and pull spots is easy. Just keep wiki map open and its pretty set. Learning how to split has a lot more things in it.

For pulling in groups, just wing it to begin with.

You have FD and very likely rez.

Try to shadow other pullers too.

I don't know if twitching is still popular on p99, if it is then maybe watch some pullers doing their thing?

This is solid advice and will do you well to 60

Thanks guys, guess I’m making this a bigger deal than it needs to be.

So what do you guys thinks? BnB in sol b or someplace in seb. I do believe I’ve worn out my welcom in kc, as I just got done with an hour long grind at rcy, and my exp bar didn’t budge. No, I did not die, either.

As a monk you do have an advantage in KC; you can control what level mobs your group is killing.

If you kill crappy sentries, curates and lookouts, of course your xp bar won't be moving.

If you can focus on pulling Drolvarg Bodyguards, Spectral Knights, Spectral Protectors, hands and Decayed Soldiers, the xp can move quite passably.

Solo in HK. I did all of 54 solo off single spawns or nobles in-between Netflix and hearthstone. Basically got lvl 55 by watching season 1 of punisher on Netflix.

It's important to note that 54+ you should look for camps you enjoy killing at or loot camps and let XP come as a bonus. Leveling won't be fast anywhere, so if you're not a charm class or bard who can actually level somewhat quickly, you're gonna have a bad time if you're staring at your xp bar expecting it to move much.

Also what Syder said, duo/trio or maybe 4-some as a monk is where it's at. Full group XP sucks like 40+

Gotta start thinking about loot / money, not XP.

Seb all the way. Start in ABC or Disco groups...or duo NG / random trash with a shaman.

It's rough level 54 technically requires more XP than level 55, 56, 57, or 58 individually. His suggestion is decent.

Sebelis is honestly hard to get a group in more often than not. I fear you will end up making the long trek and then sit LFG for hours. HS is even worse unless you are a cleric/shaman/necro/enchanter and even then its dicey because people like to duo/trio and usually only invite friends/guildies. The entirety of the dungeon essentially broken to 5 or 6 camps which with the current meta supports like 10 players

For whatever reason (loot, hell levels, ???) on P99 the 'grouping scene' completely breaks down after 55. You can pug in KC but after that it becomes slim pickings. Sebelis and HS can be tough to 'break in to' and I imagine that has a lot to do with it since it is a pain in the ass for someone to even get to the camp sometimes. The hole is one of the best XP zones in the entire game, but you need a sh!ty key to get in + sh!t location = empty zone

You need to make best friends with a couple of shamans and necromancers or you will never hit 60 IMO. Necro/Monk is actually a damn good combo in HS and KC for a duo. Shadow Bond and Mend make for very little to no down time and it lets the Necromancer keep thier pet since it wont take damage while the monk is attacking. I group with Monks all the time in HS basement on my Necro and its about as easy as it gets (given that the necro knows wtf he is doing - HS can have a rough learning curve for new players not knowing what to expect)

Instead of waiting for invites or wandering around, do this.

Do what I did and delevel your monk back down. If you never hit level 54 you never have to grind through 54.

I never had trouble finding groups in sebilis honestly. Some nights it didn’t happen but just make a decent reputation for yourself. The same people will be grouping there the same time you’re leveling there for the most part and you’ll make friends with them and get invites. Learn how to get to camps without getting killed or training anyone. As a monk I won’t say it’s trivial but it’s very doable. Just be patient and just pass each group individually you want to limit the amount of casters on you at any given point. Being able to get to a camp without the group having to clear for you will get you into groups on that fact alone sometimes.

For 54 I did the level mostly in KC. It was slow but I left there with my metal pipe, a verix medallion, and because of that I didn’t have to go back unless I wanted to. It’s also a good shot at a t-staff. (As good of a chance as you’re going to get anyway).

Solo in Kedge. Double exp.

I duoed Kedge very recently cle/enc with the hopes of this "awesome xp" and it was quite disappointing actually.

Did the ZEM get nerfed at some point? I took a break for a long while recently so I don't know exactly. I think this idea of Kedge being awesome xp is another P99 hot air/echo chamber phenomenon at this point. Its an awesome zone and nobody is ever there so that alone will make the bar move faster than somewhere you have to argue over scraps and get trained by nubs all the time.

There have been whispers of a kedge ZEM stealth nerf but I have no first hand knowledge of it

Good so its not just me! =)

Even with an XP nerf Kedge isn't a horrible idea. Youre guaranteed a steady stream of mobs. Go duo with a Shaman and it'll be way more fun than fighting over solo KC scraps or dealing with packed Seb.

HS used to be dead now its always packed with idiots training zone in/basement agroing the East wing pather.
HS basement is easy to pull and the only caster mobs are Oblations which are wizards. The mobs HT though which can be a very quick death. You need a healer for this too.

I see a lot of monks soloing these days but the XP moves better in a good duo. If you can trio with an Enc pet or even a Druid (Sol B bats come to mind) you'll seriously crank. Its a way better way through 54 than a solo grind. With a good Druid you can do Sol B bats duo even.

I heard all non starter dungeons were reduced to 85 zem. Again can't confirm but it was from several sources

85 has always been the base. EQ is weird in that 85 is the 100% for experience.

Just powered through 54 myself. I had a lot of success soling Goos in WL. However I would recommend having some form of clicky heal or some sort of regain. otherwise bring about 6 million bandages. Pretty good exp and not too stressful. That and the goos can drop vendor loot that sells for 9-130pp (think star ruby earrings, no weight but plat fo sho)

Oh also forgot to mention. If you do go to goos, be careful of the random wall agro. They like to throw you a surprise party.

You can also collect Sarnak War Braids in OT and do that quest, again and again. I‘m sure, it‘s not the best way to get through 54 - but it‘s a possible way. I‘d call it „a monk‘s test of patience way“.

Well, I hunkered down for 10 hours and camped the bards in HK, and am now 68-70% into 54. With luck, I will. e kut of double hell by tomorrow. Thank you all for your help!

Oh also forgot to mention. If you do go to goos, be careful of the random wall agro. They like to throw you a surprise party.

There's nothing random about the wall aggro. The western wall of the 3 room and the adjoining eastern wall of the 5 room will aggro mobs on the other side if you sit near it, root a mob near it and sit down, or send in a pet or lower level player too close. Eyes of Zomm tend to royally fuck shit up and aggro literally every goo (and faerie dragon if kos) in the cave, too.

Avoid doing those things and you'll have no problems with wall aggro.

Learn?

Biggest issue is casters. Figure out where to fd out of line of sight.

What is your plan on reaching 60?

If you don't want to learn how to FD split you should reroll Rogue or Warrior.

If you don't want to form groups and play with other people, reroll Wizard.

10 hours of solo at nobles would make me lose my mind. The EQ dungeon crawling experience is pretty fun. Start using /who and sending tells.

HK nobles/bards, you should see blue bar move at 54 for every kill
