Im sure this have been brought up, but im doing phinny allmost every day atm, and recently when you send a pet on him he summons you for no reason in the middle of the fight, no casts on pet or phinny at all, and there was no resummons yet.
This cant be right?

yea something is wrong, you cant chain pets without getting aggro anymore. This is clearly not classic, as you should never get aggro if you dont heal your pet/cast on mob your pet is fighting.
My little pinky told me this has to do with certain guilds owning plane of sky with pet classes. but what do I know?!

That might be true, but that kinda ruin the game for the rest off the server if thats the only reason :)

There was not a consensus to unclassically nerf pet classes. Pet aggro is just a system that needs additional work and feedback put into it.

"get a trivial amount of agro", not "never get agro". Sick of people posting misinformation about this.
The mob knows your there if you sent a pet to attack it and you ARE on the hate list. There should NEVER be a way to attack a mob without it knowing you are attacking it, this includes using a pet.

Yes that is true, but without doing anything to the monsters it should not just agro you out of the blue should it? :)

Correct... sort of.
This is probably the worst example but let's say you send your pet to attack and your pet misses it's first couple swings and you sit down. Your on the hate list by virtue of your pet being in agro range and since sitting cause more agro than a missed swing the mob will come after you.
Now combine that with the changes that they are working with pets generating a lower percentage of agro than players.
Don't get me wrong, I realize that things are a little borked.
But I am still seeing mages pull with their level 1 nuke and sending the pet to attack before the mage gets hit and it works!. In fact I saw this yesterday, multiple times. This was a fire pet not an earth pet. Had to be the level 44 pet spell.

Hmm, with my necro I have sent my pet to attack and had the mob start running to me first. I will attempt to recreate and document this.. The agro for pets is most certainly off by a noticeable amount.

yea problem is right now theres aggro transfered to the mage after a pet dies or does damage, I do not know exactly how it works. But after a couple rounds of chain petting, the mob will forget any pets thats on it and will go straight for the mages.
This happen after maybe 4 or 5 chain summoned pets. I believe it should stay ad vitam eternam on pets as long as a) theres still pets on it b) you didnt "sit" or did anything but summoning pets. Thats the classic chain petting.

Well for me today at phinny, i didnt pull, i was just standing at max range and send pet, before the petever died, phinny summoned me and i had to run out of hes range, after that i did chain summon pets like 4 times and didnt get a single summon after that, so there is something wrong atm, just not sure what exactly it is, maybe that the pets dammage goes on the pet owners agro list? not sure tho.

Actually, you are supposed to be able to do that while FD. That was classic.

yes you should be able to have a pet up and also have DOTS on a mob and successfully cast or use FD. You can't get up till the DOTs wear off and or the mob or the pet dies.

Pet aggro still needs to be tweaked, definitely -- right now pets do not hold aggro over almost anything done by the caster -- but I don't really think it's as bad as some people describe.
As far as chain-petting: I played a mage on live to 60, and one of the hardest parts about chaining was that you had to find a way to not die while the mob beat the shit out of you for 20-30 seconds because your pet had to build up some aggro. You do get aggro from having a pet on the mob -- and that's very definitely classic. It was one of the things that made chain petting very difficult (and not just stupidly OP). It may need to be tweaked a bit, but I can tell you that when you chained on live, you expected to get beaten on for at least a few rounds. That got worse with every new pet you summoned, because you built aggro while the pet had to start fresh every time.
The only really weird thing I've noticed about pet aggro (I'm playing a necro now) is that if I sit down and send my pet to attack a mob, the mob runs and hits me as soon as my pet engages. I think maybe all of the aggro from a player engaging their pet is being applied at the beginning of the fight, and it should be a bit more uniform.
One final note to the mages: no complaints from you guys. Mages absolutely blew on live. You guys are much more powerful here =P

This is how it worked here before the patch too. I did about 100 dinos on my magician. I kited him around while my new pets got aggro, and it became progressively harder for each pet to get the dino off me the more pets I made.

Yes i do belive it was atleast close to live before, now its just hard to know when you will get agro and die :)
