Venril Sathir Faction

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get up my Venril Sathir faction.

I've been doing the Sarnak War Braids quest, but it seems like it will take many turn ins to get to a non-kos faction at the evil outpost in overthere.

I also saw I could get keyed for VP and kill stuff there for faction. The only problem is I need Trakanon's Tooth to be able to get keyed for VP. Do people sell Trakanon Tooth loot rights? I could join a guild to get it, but I really don't want to join a guild to get one item and then leave. I prefer to be guildless currently just so i'm not locked down to anything.

Just trying to figure out my best route for getting my faction up.

This is on an Agnostic Wood Elf Bard by the way.

Getting your VS faction up means you can never kill stuff in KC or HS: is that really worth one extra bank/merchant?

Tag Kunark dragon kills, triggered Faydedar is great for this. Alternatively, just use the bank through the wall and have a ring of shadows ready in case the goons are patrolling.

Edit: You might need to use the DE mask to make them forget you're a wood elf I guess.

Was your plan to solo mobs in VP or single group? Cause youre most likely going to need guild support to even roam VP and go from entrance to exit.

The faction songs boosts you up one level so they're still threatening. The dark elf mask does not make them like you.

I was just going to tag mobs or if people would let me in their group then I would group. I didn't plan on solo'ing there.

Yes i'm using a wind instrument it still only takes me up one level. I had another Wood Elf bard test it with the dark elf mask and he said they were still scowling. What is your deity?

kill pirates in FV and OoT (on seafurry island) help both the docks and the FV area faction i was ally to the outpost but 10 VS kills really means they hate you.

Dark Elf Agnostic Bard (assuming you never did anything to lower your Venril Sathir faction) = Apprehensive @ Outpost.

Those vendors are greedy anyway, don't bother.

The vendors in OT are all greedy, so it's not worthwhile to sell to them anyway or you'll lose half your profit. If you desperately need a vendor in OT, sell to this iksar https://wiki.project1999.com/Klok_G%60rshai but she's also flagged as greedy.

Half Elf - Agnostic - can bank and vendor, but never vendor there

I've killed Toko Binlittle before and I'm pretty sure it only gave me two factions: -Pirates of Gunthak, and + FV. Are there others that give outpost / VS faction?

There's a merchant near the Warslik Woods zoneline that you should ne able to use. I don't think she is on any faction. Although this won't solve your problem if you need to buy something specific. I'd just ask someone in ooc to buy whatever you need for you.

The recharge cost is not an issue. The waste of time running to FV would be an issue in my case.

I can testify an agnostic dark elf bard with max kos faction can vendor with faction song using only wooden flute. Might need to sneak to vendor but they won't attack

Scowling is a very deep faction level. The negative modifier for woodelf (and positive for dark elf?) could be fairly substantial yet still not be enough to take you out of scowl if you are really deep KOS.

I suggest giving the mask a go for yourself; the bard you spoke to may not have been agnostic, or may have done some hunting that made their KoS deeper than yours.

If you are threatening with faction song I suspect switching race could be enough to push you out of threatening. Threatening isn't such a wide band of faction!

If you just want to vendor, invis somewhere safe(ish), activate sneak behind a merchant (you can tell it works without needing to con if you wait 12 seconds; if it is still blocked out it worked.... or I you move slower it worked) then do that.

You'll get a better price with sneak (indif) than anon dark elf bard with faction song (app default).

What are you planning to recharge if the cost is a non issue? The OT vendors charge premium prices and pay a pittance. If they are fairly expensive items you might want to consider using a vendor close to a shaman port potion then OT hammer back??

Sneak hand ins with Berzerker Braids can up your faction too. To give you an idea of the faction gained per turn in: it takes about 120 to get from Apprehensive to amiably.

Good advice. I ended up farming the mask and since i'm agnostic it did indeed work!

I was doing sneak turn ins, but due to the way that the captain/marines are positioned it was tricky. For anyone interested in how I was doing it, here is a video.
