I appreciate all that Cylock has done for the pvp community but even he can't give a definitive public statement on the status of p99, r99, teams, or discord. The reason is very obvious and we don't even know if he knows all of the facts. Cylock' "I support teams" is a lot like "thoughts and prayers" posted on Facebook, it's nice to say but holds zero substance.

I'd challenge any of the leaders of this project to give a statement that's definitive, it just won't happen because then it would set a precedent and also might not be allowed by daybreak.

If I recall correctly.. When they announced discord they had different staff or it was pre-staff investigation. So I'm guessing that because of those changes and staff having to get looked into one by one it has delayed/halted the process that was planned before. This is just a guess based on what I'm semi aware of looking in from the outside. But there was a plan to have a 'leaderboard' on the website for the discord server. Then after that staff business someone said don't count on that.
I should really dig up these posts.

edit: I can confirm there was the staff investigation because sirken said it on one of his p99 shows. On that show he said that no other staff had access except for him because they were being looked into for a period of time.

editedit: This is actually an unfinished that project I would like completed prior to opening a new server.

There are options which haven't been fully discussed. One option is as you said, once the new server reached the end of Velious, merge those characters back into the original existing p99 server. At that point, start a new one. i.e. Recycle

Pretty sure a lot of us would love to play again, i mean lets be real all the new games out there are garbage and part of what makes everquest fun is the cutthroat nature of how the game is designed.. not a lot of raid content and a ton of nerds competing for said content, makes shit interesting. I've been to the wow emulators since i quit everquest, gotten 60 and instantly gotten bored. The game just isn't as fun and competitive as everquest, to many instances and virtually zero punishment on death.

Red definitely needs a cleaning, Everquest isn't forever, it's only fun until all the content has been released and people have farmed/fought for it for awhile, then its time for a wipe. Anyone arguing against a wipe now is at the same level of sanity as someone who likes to collect bottle caps, get a grip.
