Recovering user login & password?

Is it possible to recover user login and password? I haven't played in years on p99, but forgotten the login credentials.

Not unless you tied it to a phone number and can use the SMS option. I've got an old account with some character names I'd like to free up, too.

I can't quite remember if I did or not. Unless this SMS option is fairly new, then I probably didn't.

Was the EQEmulator forum account the username to login on p99 server?

click 'home' on here and look on the left for 'loginserver accounts'

If you can log into your eqemu forum account, you can go to http://www.eqemulator.org/account/?LS and find a list of your loginserver names. (This is assuming you played long enough ago that your info is on eqemu rather than your p99 account.) From there you can change or reset your password.

If you didn't start that long ago, you can try http://www.project1999.com/account/?LS

Please note that you must be logged in on the forums of the sites to see your loginserver info.

The username of the last account you logged in with should be in the eqlsPlayerData.ini file. There should be a line that says Username=foo (where foo is your account name). Of course if you can just run EQ from that folder that same name will be pre-filled when you go to login also.

However that will only show the very last one you used; if you have multiple accounts I don't think there's anyway to get their name from your installation.

1) You should NEVER just PM your account details to people on the forums (or anywhere really). Account name especially.
