Yesterday was able to connect just fine, no disconnects all day - after a crashing zoning into Thurgadin late last night I am completely unable to connect. No game files have changed, no hardware or settings changes to my computer or network prior to this issue.
ISP: Comcast
My latency and connection are fine with sub 20ms ping's to Chicago and normal websites / addresses and other nearby servers (Can do everything else online at fast speeds). Reset modem, Restarted computer, checked 5998 to make sure it was open - on a tracert the highest I am seeing is mid 30ms pings however (project1999.org) on the tracert always fails on line "10" and reports line "11" v1203-cr1.er3.choopa.net - Destination host unreachable
Anyone with greater know-how and how to fix this issue would be helpful

I had the same issue last night but haven't been able to try again yet today. I started experiencing lag while in Kael, and when I tried to get a TL out, I disconnected and was unable to get back in.

I've been experiencing the same. This usually resolves itself with time

To be clear ....majority of the time I can get to the Server select screen - But it is a completely empty black box

Which i mean is sometimes an improvement to gameplay...

Just to add to this, I live with Foxplay and am experiencing the same issue on my own computer. I've verified the P1999 install and re-applied the patch 45 files without any effect. I also performed a full network reboot (including even our switch), put P1999 on DMZ temporarily, and even updated our router's firmware. The problem continues. No other websites, services, games or servers appear to be having any issues communicating with us.
When attempting to log in, I sometimes get a 'time out' message, though usually I'm successful, but receive only a blank server list that Foxplay and others in prior threads have posted. Attempting to log in several times can result in a server list, but trying to enter the server results in a "Timed out." error after about a minute.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I'm having the same issue. I think it's Comcast because I can log in via my phone's hotspot just fine. Other webpages seem to load up slower than normal as well. ugh

Looks like you're right! I just hooked my phone up to my PC and I was able to log in without any issues. I'll contact Comcast and put in a ticket on my end.

After clicking around some message boards and talking to friends and family members, it seems there may be a general slow down in my area (Houston, TX) with Xfinity customers. I wonder if any others, either in this area or utilising this provider, are having similar issues.

We're in Michigan.
Also, just as an update, me and Foxplay were suddenly both able to log in. I'll continue to monitor to see if the issue is intermittent.
Can anyone else having the issue try to log in normally now? Perhaps the issue was localized between P1999's ISP and Comcast and has been resolved.

Fuckin Comcast...my arch nemesis.
Just want to say, if you're having problems with Comcast make sure you call and bitch... a lot. Also, make sure you at least ask for the supervisor, and sometimes ask for the supervisor's supervisor. They will tell you they're all busy, that's a lie.
My problems were never P99 specific, but I had many others and I complained so much and made them send someone to my house so many times they eventually lowered my bill significantly for 2 years.

This worked great to solve this problem for me: https://github.com/Zaela/p99-login-middlemand , so I would wager it will work for you if Comcast can't get their act together.
Under linux it builds instantly with "`make`". I don't know anything about building on Windows though.
