Mobs in Velks should only drop Platinum and Silver

So you're saying that they might have made a change to the types of coin that dropped in Velks between 2001 and 2002? It's a vintage post even if it's past our timeline. Maybe someone else knows I'm right and can find a better reference. I'm 100% certain this is correct though. I distinctly remember having hundreds of plat and many hundreds of silver after a night in Velks. The other 2 coins just didn't drop.

Took a stab at finding a velks guide on vintage snapshots of monkly-business, but no dice. I figured monks would be paying attention to the coin.

Not exactly strong (or even medium-strength) evidence, but I did find:

Velketor's Labyrinth
Only camp I have AE'ed is the Pit and the entrance. The Pit is all dogs. Really easy to pull trains down there but is a chance resists could happen. Loot isn't great but the plat payout is. Spiders are really easy if enough can be found, however remind the puller to not turn his back on 10 backstabbers.

So at the very least Velk's pit mobs should be dropping a lot of plat, but I found nothing about silver (or a lack of copper/gold).

This sounds legit, but I can't trust my memory. I can look thru my old Velks chat screenshots...

I do know there was a "Velks revamp" that occurred in 2001 (discussion here (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130743)). Maybe a change happened then?

Amazingly he spent a bit of time in Velks in era and out of era, but he never looted a corpse :(

I did some newsgroup and google searches but was coming up empty. Didn't have any screenshots of corpses being looted in my archives either.

Well what do you know, this has some legs. I generously had received some of Torvin's scrubbed logs and he spent some time on AK in Velks.

I'm at work atm so only did some CTRL+F on his logs, but i can run them through my program in hopes of finding the min/max on plat silver.

Unrelated note, but as I was identifying logs to parse I happened to notice, thus far, that Crystal Caverns never has any copper coins that drop (Just Plat / Gold / Silver). Is that how P99 is setup?

Alright, my little log parser is paying off sweet ClassicQuest dividends!

I added zeroes where the specific coin wasn't visible, I'm not outputting the classic date format correctly yet, but gives you an idea.

I can try to customize it eventually to list the kill shots of the mobs that died, but its hard to tell exactly what coin came from what mob (especially that some were AoE'd).

Should note on the Crystal Caverns that it appears there are never more than 2 coin types in the data at any one time (example: Plat + Silver or Gold + Silver... never Plat + Gold + Silver). Not sure if more data would yield exceptions.
