100% Classic SK - Need Gear Advice!

Hey all,

I'm looking to make a brand new main... it's going to be an SK! To spice things up, I'm ONLY using 100% classic gear. I've done this on other characters, and it's an absolute blast. I dig the look, flavor, and extra challenge.

With that said, I'm pretty solid on every slot except for weapons.

What were people using way back in the day? Any "decent" two handers or 1 hand and shield for an SK?

SKs didn't have decent 1handers in classic. It was prty much Sharkjaw Cutlass until Plane of Sky came along.

Mith 2hander best droppable one.

Right on. I was leaning towards using A Dark Reaver and FBSS. That seems solid?

That's a classic combination. A mithril 2-handed sword will provide higher damage per minute while freeing up the waist slot, however.

yeah I say use that Mithral 2her like a true BIS pre kunark SK! Dark reaver is also great, but no SK that wielded one didnt dream of replacing it with the frog kings magical weapon of choice.

During the early days and months of p99 this is 100% true. the Guk 2handers are a solid bet. I thinkt he Blackened Alloy sword from runnyeye was the the precursor to these. Then, the Sporali Defender's blade would have been the groupable 1 hander. Was Runnyeye revamp classic? If not, the 3 2handers mentioned will do the trick.

Also, blackened iron isnt classic. P sure BABS is alot better than mith/dark reaver

Not sure about that. The M2H ratio is 0.76, and BABS ratio with FBSS haste is about 0.79. Meaning if you have a haste item to pair with the BABS they're about equal, without FBSS the M2H is actually the better choice.

Blackended alloy is post runny-eye revamp that happened during the velious expansion. And has already happened on p99.

Yeah I would say so. Plane of Sky was patched in about 9 months after the original EQ launch and before Kunark came around. If you are not going to count Sky as classic you may as well not count Fear or Hate either since Im pretty sure they weren't available on day #1 either.
