Got a Jade Mace and a Addy Club, which do I put in my primary, also what should I be aiming for as far as upgrades.

I currently dont have a 2hand blunt atm. used to have a ifs, but lost it somehow lol

FYI I am level 42

how much time did you save by omitting the o in monk?

My recommendation would be to trade addy club for SoS, then go jade mace main / SoS off. I suppose if you're tanking/soloing the stun club is nice, but if you're going to be raiding you really dont want to be pulling aggro off of the main tank with a stun proc. Just my 2cp.

I also really hate the way the club looks.

If you're set on keeping what weapons you have, addy club in main will give you more stun procs. Jade mace in main will benefit more from main hand damage bonus with more swings.

The proc for the addy/sos only starts at level 50. I mainly solo so this is why I chose the addy over the sos....

I do hope to one day group though and never thought of the agro issue.

So I should put the faster weapons even if its lower damage in my primary hand?

In general you'll want the lower delay of your two weapons in main hand, since the main hand is the only one that receives a damage bonus. You want to be receiving that bonus as much as possible. In your offhand weapon ratio is basically all that matters. This is why with monk epic you'll always use your super fast fist as mainhand and Addy/SoS offhand

Until you reach higher levels and more meaningful damage bonuses, ratio reigns supreme ... and AC ratio is much better than jade mace. I haven't worked out the math just know that there is a tipping point where jade mace primary is better.

AC/JM > JM/AC
AC/JM = JM/AC (tipping point level)
JM/AC > AC/JM ... until lv 60

Fastest primary is not always *best*

Staff of Battle versus Addy Club / SoS on a mid 30s m(o)nk

Staff of Battle is gross because it weighs 7 stones. However 2 hand is pretty legit for leveling up. Can do just as well with a Wu Quivering staff for like 100pp if you don't mind the weight.

Peace Bringer is my personally fav pre-epic but it also has a gross weight

i'd imagine so after level 30 when the dmg cap lifts. It's also Woker when you're fighting nasty filthy damage shield mobs.

you gonna want jade mace in you main hand until dmg cap increase to 28 after L10. Then, addy club in you main hand until late 50s when the elf bonus finally make it surpass the better ratio of the addy club.

does the 7 weight take away from your strength in hitting?

IFS> AC/sos?

Once you get into the high 20s / low 30s, yes. You can do 200-300 damage in one round with the IFS, and the weight is really competitive among your other options. It feels lovely when your first combat round takes off over a quarter of the HP on the mobs you're farming past level 5. You're gonna want a solid worn haste item though. You'll hate 40 delay without at least a RBB.

Dual wield before the damage cap is lifted and after you get into your 50s / get your epic.

Sourche: I leveled my monk with AC/SoS & IFS a few years ago.

PS: If I remember correctly, Jade Mace overtakes AC in the high 50s, like around 58-59. AC is superior for most applications, and by the time a jade mace would be better, you'll probably be finishing your epic if you're a contributor in a raiding guild. Someone chime in if I'm totally off on this, it's been years since I tried to figure out the break even level for AC vs JM.

i use ifs. its a gamble though because of the delay. If you have a few good rounds it can be devastating to the mob. You can take out a dark blue really fast. However, if you have a few bad rounds it can be pretty bad. its cool though, i like the gamble. makes the game fun.
