View Full Version : enchanter not being agnostic

I am thinking of making a new enchanter, would picking a neutral deity like Brell cause any issues factionwise, or would chanter be able to circumvent faction problems with spells?

I just find agnostic boring, so thinking of picking a deity for the hell of it. maybe even an erudite under Prexus or something. heh.

It might just be old superstition, but I was always under the impression if you don't roll agnostic enc you're going to have problems doing your epic (because you can't hide/illision your diety). Not sure exactly -how many- or -how hard- of problem they are, but they are problems nonetheless. maybe some oldhead encs can give you some info

ahh ok. that makes sense, too bad.

I just thought it would be interesting seeing what kind of things a brell enchanter could do, like exploring the hole without having to use spells etc., that kind of thing.

I'd imagine +faction spells and illusions would be sufficient to complete the enc epic.

There are a couple Tunare-only enc items fyi.

That's about the only benefit to that religion and even then some will dislike you. Much funner to crawl through The Hole. Tunare has the PoG items I believe and that religion causes no issue with epic.

I'm playing an Erudite chanter following Prexus. Never had any problems, including epic.

Alright thanks all for the feedback.

Going to go with gnome, and think I will go the vanilla route and choose agnostic.

Humans are neat, they can even pick innoruuk as an enchanter, thought that was interesting. :p

My enchanter is Tunare (sucks I have to rep grinned some things and I can easily kill my faction with evil races like I did with the dark elves when I killed their guards to level. even illusions and faction boost don't help me) But hey, makes the game fun for me. It does hurt a bit doing my epic but I have been grinding my faction for that also.

Yeah I am mixed about it. In some ways it might be nice having evil elingment just so I could kill goodies, but I just aint sure how it would hit my faction if I ever wanted to work on the epic.

Long as you don't allow it to drop to far you can always use a npc boost and illusion. I completely ruined my faction and had to rep grinned

I ended up deciding to get my mangina on and make a female human enchanter, of Erollisi Marr. Just to see what kind of faction situations I run into, and plus how many human enchanters are there? ;) I would think only evil elignment NPCs would have a problem with Erollisi Marr?

a neutral deity like Brell
For what it's worth, Brell Serilis is not counted as a neutral god for faction consideration. I chose Brell, and I had never been able to get into the Overthere outpost without invis. I had never gotten my /con above threatening there, even before dropping my Venril Sathir faction with mobs kills; even using my strongest Alliance spell and Dark Elf illusion. However, before doing any faction work, I could romp all around Firiona Vie outpost under the guise of an Iksar at dubious /con, excluding the shaman guild in the outpost which was threatening.

The first time I ventured into The Hole, I was dubious /con .. but that didn't last long. Heh

It feels good to be good though! Doing it up Brell, it has been far more interesting to evaluate where I am welcome and where I am despised, instead of just assuming that every NPC will tolerate me with the appropriate illusion had I chosen agnostic.

Interesting. Yeah, that's what I think too, going with Erollisi I want to see what kinds of faction situations I run into. :p

As long as you have not killed or hunted in the hole you can use earth slemnatal illusion + alliance or collaboration to move around the hole unmolested up until the undead creatures
