Hey everyone. Just want to start off by saying I've been absent for a few years from p99 so I'm sorry if this has been asked already but I haven't seen it. Is there any chance p99 would launch a new server from the beginning. Similar to the tlp servers but at a different time to avoid competition? Just wondering.
Thanks.

No sadly not, Daybreak seem to have silenced the devs here and nothing has been talked about for a long time now. Do enjoy what's here though, still fun if you look for it :)

That really stinks. I tried playing the free to play and it's terrible. No community. Free gear the whole way thru. Regularly soloing yellows and reds. Feels pretty awful. Is p99 pretty dead as well or is it worth firing up the old account?

p99 is not dead at all. It's a great server with a ton of great people. The end game is kind of overcompetitive and crowded, but there journey is great and you don't have to engage in the real end game mess unless you want to.

That's what I wanted to hear! I had a 50 shaman with mostly full end raid gear but gave away everything that wasn't no drop and 30k p99 before lunar released when I quit. I guess I'll be redownloading tonight! Thanks guys

Yes. Once the current timeline is completed, a new server (Recycle99) will be launched from Vanilla to SoV using the correct timeline of patch and content releases. There is still quite a bit of work to be done on P99, which is why you have not heard any news on a new server. Announcements will be made once the staff has something to offer to the player base.

Llandris, can we expect a new PvP server, specifically a teams PvP server ever? Or has p99 given up on that concept?

I know nilbog has said in the past that this is the intention, but is this now confirmation that there is no daybreak lockdown agreement and the p99 team are free to open new servers, including discord?

Llandris is trolling you. The real p99 is going to be an invite only server and none of us toxic neckbeards will be allowed to play :P.

There's been a third, empty server set up since the end of velious beta. They said they were going to launch something on it 2 years ago. Recycle 99 won't happen lol.

Will Recycle99 be permadeath? I'm sure it's at least a year off.

Can we please sticky this? This post alone could answer 1-2 other posts per day.

I only see one person that ever addresses this question, that's Llandris. If it were not for him, we'd constantly be in conspiracy mode, debating and theorizing this topic.
I too wish they'd sticky it, so we could just refer people to this point of what is in store for the future for P99.

It might be clean, but I wouldn't call it "clean"...

Not looking to pay. I'm pretty cheap. I did look into the tlp servers pretty extensively prior to rejoining p99. I'm glad I'm back tho.

nilbog answered it too. this what he say:
I can't give you an ETA, but I can add some information.
Since Kunark development, we have used a rule-based system when developing content and code. What this means is the work needed to add/remove timeline features only has to be done once, and a rule applied for the era.
For example, when a server is released (original eq launch date: march 1999), rubicite and manastones should drop until ~October 1999. When a new server is launched, all that is necessary is to set the correct era rules. The era switches allow us to apply rules to spawns, loottables, items, spells, doors, tradeskills, etc so they may be enabled/disabled without even a patch.
It has been, and still is the plan to release a timeline correct server a certain amount of time after Velious is complete.Velious still lacks 2 zones; Stonebrunt and Chardok revamp. There are patches between and after those times which need to be developed.
There are options which haven't been fully discussed. One option is as you said, once the new server reached the end of Velious, merge those characters back into the original existing p99 servers. At that point, start a new one. i.e. Recycle

Sell your manastones before the crash is real.
I got a buy price lvl @ 150k currently. Will lower to 100k once recycle99 is out in a year.

Agnarr says it it true box but ppl are boxxing like crazy on that server already, even streamers are boxxing so if you don't mind seeing 1 person lock down a camp with all their alts then Agnarr might work for ya.
