cant get p1999 to run!

my problem is it wont let me creat a char/ enter world... my characters name is "your spells file is outdated. [0 UNKNOWN CLASS]


says in the character slots to go get the files from the p1999 site.. ive done that though. any help?

After you downloaded the game files from project1999.com, did you extract the updated game files into the file folder you saved the game to? They don't automatically install when you download them, you have to manually unzip them into the P99 directory.

You're problem is probably your firewall and that weird file that gets kicked out it's a sticky on this sub forum

The dsetup file gets kicked out automatically, so long as your firewall is active and it will keep asking to remove the file. You have to manually take it out of the zip extraction to desktop to EQ directory. When you restart your comp it will automatically remove it again
