honestly why is the food system so broke.. muffins shouldnt be the same amount of foodage as fish rolls. its kinda sad honestly that after all this time it hasnt been implemented. such easy programming... literally all u have to do is give the size of food a value and decrease chars food value every so often. ex. snack = 1 meal =2 subtract 1 food every 6 ticks. FIX THIS NOW OR I QUIT!!!

The system actually used to work similar to how your proposed.
Evidence was presented that on the equivalent point in the live timeline all food was equally nourishing. As such, the system got changed into the state it is in today.
Judging by your join date you might already be aware of this.
Find evidence that late 2001 Everquest different food was differently nourshing and then I am sure the devs will revert it back to it's previous state as a time locked update ready for the 'true blue' server.

From April 2001 timeline:
http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20010417a.html
Food items now have a 'duration'. This means that some food items will not sustain a character as long as others, and some items will sustain your character longer than they did before.
Also in another patch same day:
http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20010417b.html
Along with the other changes mentioned in the patch message, some player-made food items will now have an effect on your character beyond just keeping him from being hungry. We'll leave it up to you to discover the rest.
We've also added the ability to right-click food to 'force' your character to eat it. This will cause the food to be eaten immediately (though your character can only eat so much food at one time). Food eaten this way will only last half as long as food eaten naturally by the character.
I interpret that as Food was not right clickable until April 17th, 2001 in timeline. Stats on food were then presented as well as different durations.
So I believe we should have duration differences now?

Yes i second this! can a gm plz apply this? the evidence has been proven..
why are there stats on food but no duration changes?
it makes the game very stale in the food department (pun intended)

Part of me wonders if devs filter out requests where evidence isn't cited in original post (I think the sticky mentions something of it not being considered without links).
May want to make a new post with the evidence cited and filter out the 'omg wtf is wrong with you guys programming ain't hard noobs!' tone in the original message! You came off a bit inflammatory

very lame idk why people would want to boringify the game.. really doesnt make the game seem any more "classic" just 1 less mechanic and 1 more boring point for gryffindor.
