Usurpers of The Gorge

I've only seen King Xorbb one other time on Project 1999 - needless to say I was shocked to see him strolling through the zone and I was even more shocked to see people hunting here - These heroes call themselves The Misfits of Marr and we decided to team up and take down The King of the Beholder's!

Here he is in all his glory - he is bigger than the average evil eye and seems to be a Wizard and not an enchanter like the others.

I know from experience that there's nothing worse than having something in your eye - so this was my primary strategy of attack!

He was loathe do give up his secrets and alas! his staff remained hidden from me - at least The Misfits got a nice ring out of it!

They say beholders are creatures of great magical and mysterious powers. Their dreams shape the very reality around them. Extremely Self indulged they think their form is the most perfect and even other beholders are not as perfect as they are. Each of their stalks can channel it's own magical power separate from the rest. They can imagine instantly nearly every outcome so that they can prepare for any possible encounter from any foe. Killing a beholder is no small feat and only the most experienced heroes are capable of such epic battles.

His spawnpoint. No idea the method to summon him however. He's usually up after patches/earthquakes though.

I would think you could highsun everything in his PH list til one goes back to said point and kill it then just camp the point.

look for an extra chasm minotaur or evil eye. otherwise aoe the muddites until something spawns at the spots

Indeed a very cool write-up, as most of us have never seen a King Xorbb before. I'd say its one of the rarer 99 experiences that someone could have/share.

We were only reading about his faction pals after killing his friends back in '99 on Live.


Gorge is a highly underrated adventure zone all around.

Filbus has a complicated relationship with Xorbb. For one, he hates the Gorge because it's not got any nice plants or grasses to rest his feet on. For two, the King Xorbb is rarely to be seen. And then Three, King Xorbb is directly assaulting the Runnyeye Citadel. Filbus has never been able to determine if Xorbb's influence on the goblins make them more violent towards the halflings; so he has gone with the assumption that it's better to have the enemy at the Wall attacked by the evil eyes to one side and the hobbits to another.

If someone ever proves that Xorbb is puppeteering the Goblins to be more aggressive to my good folk of the Wall, I'll have to go destroy him.

The guild was originally formed on Erollisi Marr and these RL friends came to P99 earlier this year. I'm not an original member, but I met them here in P99 and joined up with them.

The guild is small, very social, very helpful, very fun!
