I played about six years ago. Logged in for a little last night...1300 players on? IIRC correctly back then we were around 900. What little piece of history did I miss?

It was a bit higher during early Velious but is still a healthy population.

I think we probably picked up a lot of players from live disenchanted with the watered down version of EQ they've been getting and want the real deal hardcore/as it should be/as it was intended to be experience too.

I'd rephrase that the other way around. You left something as awesome as Project 1999 for six years: even without any special 'history' how could you not expect hundreds of people to discover and love it in that time?

Arguably if it was easier to install and get set up I'd say we'd have at least a few hundred more on the server.

Alas, it isn't. I can't get it working on a windows 10 PC so soldiering on with a win8 netbook :D

I literally never had a computer on which P99 didn't run perfectly smoothly, without any need to tweek. How can you not get it working on a Win 10 PC? There's nothing to do, just unzip the files and create the shortcut..

You have other issues than just Windows 10. I am not W10 fan, but it runs p99 great.

I have a Windows 10 budget laptop (Integrated Graphics/GPU AMD CPU) that I was optimistic about running EQ on, at first it was pretty awful, after dumbing down some graphics and making sure that I don't have those textures loaded, running it in normal EQ windowed mode ( Not WinEQ 2) does the trick for me.

I thought it was a PITA to set up personally (although a lot of that was due to that I was installing it from a torrented copy of Titanium - having to create virtual drives and mount images etc.) I am running it on a 5 yr old Dell laptop with Win7 and it runs great with everything turned all the way up. Although I had problems getting it to run full screen with my widescreen display 1366x768... and had to run it in 1024x768 for the longest time... now it works in 1366 but still in windowed mode.

I am running P99 on my i7 SP4 with 16gb on Windows 10 pro using the Intel Graphics at 1600x1200 with everything turned on and at max. No issues at all. So it has to be something in the Windows10 install or setting that is causing this.

I figured the Sp4 on Intel Graphics was going to run is crappy but not one issue.

I'm also running Windows 10, the only issue I run into is the game crashes with a memory error every time I camp.

Sometimes the game will also crash my entire system the moment I enter combat for the first time, I literally have to hard power down to get out of that crash. That one is random though, its happened exactly 3 times.

I've been having lag issues lately both on P99 and on Live servers wheneever there are a lot of mobs or people in one area. I tried to run my druid through Kael but when I got to the see invis guys and noticed I was going the wrong way I was moving Sooo slow that I chickened out and gated. I've defragged my computer, running Win 10, 2 Gigs RAM, NVideo Geforce Card, much better than what EQ ever required, so what could be the problem?
I started playing again just getting ready for the new Prog server coming on May 24th (the one that's going to stop at LDON), but I'm liking P1999 again even better. I love the old music and the non revamped zones (except for Lavastorm, I prefer the revamped version because it's what I'm used to). I hate, hate, hate the new Freeport, and the combined Commland areas and no Oasis. So I think I may just stay here...

I'd recommend re-asking this in the technical forum, but one thing that could potentially help is changing your "Max. Frames Per Second" in the "Display" options (ALT +O).
