Heya whats the best place to level for a shaman from 58 to 60, looking to keep around 4-6 mobs rooted and epic dotted at all times.

I have all the required items.

I did solb imps/guardians 56-60, could get a duo going and wreck freet himself easily

Aye those are good.

What about The Hole? Theres bound to be some nice spot down there.

Hole is great exp but might be difficult in the 55+ root rot range, you're gonna need to get pretty deep to get out of the green garbage, but in doing so you need to get through town which is just chuck full of CHing healers, so you'll probably want to just get through town and go for the undead tower.

Summon becomes a factor as well. Summoners are going to significantly lower your xp rates solo by costing you HP(mana)

Doable solo, but probably better done with a duo or more if you want to be efficient/speedy about it.

Who all 57-59 rng/war/monk/rog/enc, wreck solb/hs

Agreed, but he asked for root rot!

You'll get better xp duo, but yeah solb is probably the best bet. You could try KC as well during off hours - but the only benefit there is that your chances of finding a duo partner or efficient trio will be higher from the increased zone population.

I soloed a bit in the Hole in the 58-60 range. I would just camp at the ramp/drop off and kill the golem and elementals. If I had time/mana, I'd grab a rat or 4 from the jail as well. It wasn't bad, really....

I see shamans wrecking the 2nd and 3rd floors of CoM pretty regularly with like 10 mobs rooted. Great place to solo as a shammy.

I have heard you can go all the way to 60 here, but I would imagine some of them start to green out.

Alternate idea: do Seafuries. It will take you much longer than other spots, but you'll be close to buying Torpor by the time you're done.

Other ideas from the Per-Level Hunting Guide: Permafrost bear pits, SkyFire, Kedge Keep, and Howling Stones (I did basement a those levels and it's great root/rotting, although by 58 the mobs are starting to turn light blue and get light-blue-er at 59).

It's worth pointing out that solb freet trash will also contain an occasional green at the 58+ end, but they're always EXP greens (lblues) iirc.

Edit : Seafuries are allright but he wants 4-6 at a time!

You can get 4-6 (or even more), if you go at the right times. And while it definitely helps if you play during off hours, I've gotten that many on Friday nights too: it's just a matter of camping there, checking in periodically, and playing an alt (or settling for less Seafuries and Gornit) if it is busy.

But really probably the best way to do Seafuries at that level is as a break from leveling, not as your leveling strategy. I wasn't kidding when I said leveling from 58 to 60 on Seafuries could get you enough plat to almost buy Torpor, but what I left out is that that's only true because it will take a long time to level from 58 to 60 on Seafuries.

My other suggestions were more practical, and although I didn't mention CoM I do recommend it also (if it's not camped; unfortunately it's much more popular than it used to be on live).

I play euro time (always off hours). It's rare that a shaman will find enough up to root/dot and the xp really blows after 55.

The cash is only good if you can kill fast and find mobs up.

Not be a downer but Seafuries sounds absolutely awful at 58-60. You'll be there till 2018 before you ding 60. Yeah you'd be rich as fuck but your will to play EQ (and real life too, probably) would be gone.

HS North sounds good. Basement is probably decent as well. Think CoM will green out too much.

Soloing HS as a shaman sounds terrible - virtually every mob in there harm touches and you would absolutely die. Unless you can charm you should stay far away from HS

I leveled the vast majority of 57-60 in HS basement. Harm touches are no big deal, only one mob type does them (sepulcher skeleton I think? maybe one other) and even if they were an issue you could still make your pet eat them. So no, they do not mean you would "absolutely die".

I did alot of HS to level. If you keep the mobs rooted and/or send in pet to eat the HT then it's not a problem.
Also some root nets help to break rooms if you want to go further in!
