Just downloaded Starcraft off blizz and raped a 1v1 lost temple called the guy bad and he told me "really this is a 20 year old video game."

Should have toned down the APM and kept it closer to StarCraft 1.

If not just based on the fact SC1 was balanced far more so than the unnecessarily high APM sc2.

apm is a direct result of better technology. sc2 is what sc1 shoulda been and before u start spouting "muh nostalgia" i played sc1 for years and found sc2 waay better

in terms of actual gameplay, game mechanics, and especially custom games, sc2 shits on sc1

if u want a slower apm rts you should play wc3

The APM of SC2 makes it difficult to even know its balance situation. SC2 has gone through several patches and stages of balance, so I don't know the current situation. I played the fuck out of SC2 launch and enjoyed it.

SC1 is still regarded as one of the most balanced RTS of all time. Muh nostalgia is right. The game was clean, had clean strats and clean balance. SC2 is all about base expanding. in SC1 a base expo was nice but not entirely necessary to grab a win. You could outplay someone or outpick someone with only 1 base in SC1. In SC2 base expo is a mandatory step of the game. Big difference, steroided APM not to do with technology.
