I've never seen them do this. There are even a few higher level druids hanging out at the ruins (Tholia Fastbond (https://wiki.project1999.com/Tholia_Fastbond), Solvedi Aldeberan (https://wiki.project1999.com/Solvedi_Aldeberan), Tibrinn Ember (https://wiki.project1999.com/Tibrinn_Ember)), so even level 60s shouldn't be entirely safe.

On a similar note, and I'm not sure if this is currently working on P99, but literally all non-vendor druids at all druid ruins across all classic continents should assist any and all wildlife in the area (North Karana, East Karana, West Commons, etc.). This was huge in classic EQ - I remember taking great care not to accidentally aggro wildlife by sitting down near a druid ring, even at higher levels, because they would immediately assist even if you weren't the one to attack.

Curious, possibly related, does Holly Windstalker assist in qeynos hills? I vividly remember learning the "don't attack animals around druids/rangers" lesson very early from that lady.

all non-vendor druids at all druid ruins

Including treants.

Treants and druids at the rings should be assisting animals. Holly Windstalker is also correct.

I need more information regarding Unkempt druids assisting the bears in Mountains of Rathe. That is the only comment mentioning preservers assisting bears, and I couldn't get them to assist the bears on live now. Surely there are guides out there that mention the dangers of hunting the bears there if the higher level druids did indeed assist.

This is a tough one, but here's what I've got.

A post from Everlore claiming bears will assist unkempt preservers:

The post in which a P99 dev initially made druids assist animals - he mentions he left out the unkempt druids, but it appears he wasn't 100% sure either.

A post from Allakhazam explaining why unkempt druids still give negative QRG Protected Animals faction when killed:

And lastly, a very cryptic Daybreak forums post:

And for what it's worth, I played EQ from launch day until the release of Luclin and remember accidentally aggroing the unkempt druids on my non-KoS paladin while killing the bears. I could certainly be misremembering though - it was 17 years ago.
