I just hit 30 last night on my Wizard and was wondering where i could solo at? Maybe a few spots since one might be camped, thanks :)

I would say that at 30 it's time to start quadding. Make sure you have Jboots and staff of temperate flux. If you don't have the staff PM me and I can help you get it when I'm available.

Also - if you need any of your spells researched, let me know what spells you are looking for - I have a lot of extra runes and maxxed research skill.

I had really good luck at 30 at:

Overthere: quadding succulents, cockatrice, sabertooth tigresses. I tried to avoid Rhinos (they run faster than all the other mobs, so they screw up a quad), and sabertooth tigers because they generally have much more HP than other mobs in the zone. Succulents seem best because they are a bit slower than other mobs and easy to round up near the pool and drag to the wall by SF ramp. If you get in trouble you can zone to SF.

Unrest: grouped, or solo the double spawn with priest of najena spawn (good opportunity to get your mystic cloak if you don't have it yet) http://wiki.project1999.com/A_priest_of_najena

South Karana: quadding gnolls by the spires - you can zone to paw if you get in trouble.

Definitely time to start quadding if you're down with that. OT is great as mentioned. If you're not KOS to OT outpost, quad Sarnak Berserkers ASAP for extra XP on braids and a free OT mallet.
If you'd prefer to stick with the root-nuke method, halfling guards would be an option. Xp isn't as great but you get some cash out of it.

Wizard is a high elf, so would the OT be kos. Also what's the price on jboots?

Yeah high elf would be KoS. Jboots MQ runs about 6-7k but you can get by on SoW pots for 100/ea as long as needed.

You'll be KoS at the outpost in OT, but still a great place to quad. You can port whenever you need to vendor.

Ah perfect, how would one get their factioning up for the OT outpost?

I did gnolls in south karana on my wizard. It's nice because you can bind in Qeynos to turn in the skins for a ton of exp and port back to NK. A set of skins at those levels is like 1/2-1 full yellow of exp.

Otherwise, Firiona Vie is great for quadding until 42ish, along the cliffs. The pirates are rogues and easy to blow up.

Short answer: not worth it.
Long answer: Tag VP dragons, or have a necro or enchanter friend charm the quest NPC for braid turn-ins every time your bags fill up. Could take you several hundred braids to get to non-KoS depending on where high elves start on the scale.

A cheaper alternative to jboots is just buying sow potions. jboots will be like 4 or 5k so you will have 4 to 5 hundred uses of a sow potion in order to break even. jboots are a nice long time goal, but are not required for quadding. Often there will be a sow caster that you can ask, saving a potion.

AFK type camp = Skeletons in Rathe Mts.

As already mentioned, South Karana is good. Lots to choose from with roamers or the gnolls and the centaurs to sell to also. Iirc, the aviak seller guy doesn't like wizards.

Warslik Woods, the giant fort usually has some grouping there.

Froon & Choon in West Karana, are lv30. Provided you dont get resisted, it could be good practice for the bigger targets with long reach.

Unless you have several k plat to unload; just get a few 10 dose SoW potions. Unless you get crazy lucky to kill the AC for the ring. If so, PM me the winning lottery numbers please.

Given the choice, choose JBoots. Night and Day difference in utility. Save what you'd spend on sow potions and just port to wc to beg for a sow and gate back to your kiting spot.

Jboots are like 6k.-7k.

Sow potions are 20p per hour of SoW, so that value of jboots doesnt surpass sow until after 300 sow potions...

Its probably worth it to grab a few , stretch out the value with pity sows from strangers when you can, until you can solo the AC yourself.

6-7k can be farmed from typically uncamped exp mobs while leveling 20-34 so you can buy jboots by the time you are able to kite. I'm just saying, it's not worth it to waste 4-5k on sow pots. They're great to keep one handy for traveling, but quite cumbersome and costly to use for kiting. You gotta remember that you're going to be spending 10 minutes medding between kites. So of the 360 minutes of sow you get, you're only using about 120 minutes of it. You'll probably only be able to do 24 kites with one pot, so you're spending 4-5pp per kite.

And this is all assuming you make the most of every minute of sow. When I leveled my wizard I typically ran one kite every 20 minutes just while I had the game in the background. It's kind of an afk class.
