Game is open world PvP with full item loot. Crafting, farming, building. Guild v Guild territories, boss mob PvP and much more. All the equipment and mounts are player made. Full character customization play any style you want. Check it out on YouTube it might be your thing. Cool thing its cross platform PC, mac, Linux and android.

Nows a good time to prepare and test strategies and item/skill builds. Game is in final beta but should have been released already. Final wipe in July followed by release.

There's so much land to contest tho so I don't agree with 100% the black continent is framville right now lol. I also think you get banished to there from royal continent if you bork your PvP rep.

I do have some questions though! After reading about it on their official website I read something that insinuated all gear and items are crafted. Does that mean NPC's don't drop gear upgrades for players? I tried to ask on twitch, but the guy was so immersed in the game he wasn't watching his twitch channel

Its hard to say I'm fairly new with casual game time. I think I've seen 1-2 system item drops. Majority is crafting materials and just silver and spikes of fame(xp). If you check their dev updates and fourm a new system with items drops are being worked on called the black market. It interacts with the auction house and low bids/buy outs and a mobs loot table with % to drop item x on said mobs loot table. Acting as a item sink and silver injection in the game economy. The items that drop are still player crafted apparently.

I haven't done any hellgates as of this beta but I've seen videos of people looting high tiers of weapons.
Games nuts last did the whole rogue thing and i turned on my wiping party and walked away with 4 other peoples character sheets and inventory. I learned its better to solo farm players then mobs. In PvP games.

Its free to play after you buy the game and the sub is optional but a huge handicap. But easy to be self suffient with in game currenecy

Been playing Albion for over a year now (since Beta 1, now in Beta 3) and honestly they have been gradually ruining the PvP imo. With the reputation system, and putting black zones on a separate continent, they've made it to where open world PvP is almost non-existant in the Royal Lands, and it's dominated by zergs in the Outlands. There isn't anywhere for a small/mid size group to go for open world fighting.

They do have Hellgates, GvG battles, Chest fights, etc which are all PvP activities, but that's more like a PvP mini-game, it's just not the same as roaming around the world killing dudes and taking their loots. Hopefully they'll pump the brakes on the carebear features though, there are some good suggestions on the forums currently for solving the issue.

Over all, I'm still unable to tell anyone not to play, it's the best thing there is right now. PvP is very fun, the GvGs rock, the PvE is lacking but it's a PvP oriented game so I don't hold that against it.

In its current state I gotta say 7/10, 9/10 if they can stop with all this PvP-prevention they've been dabbling in.


EDIT : The game isn't pay to win. You can buy gold with RL money, and then exchange the gold for silver(the actual in-game currency, gold changes in value kindof like stocks, so one day it could be 100silver per gold, others it could be 1000 silver per gold depending on supply/demand) which ofcourse lets you buy gear in-game. But it's really only a big advantage for a short period of time after the wipes, and they won't be wiping anymore once the game launches this summer. I've done competitive PvP in every single beta, and never had to buy anything other than the game. If you enjoy the game enough to play regularly, you'll make enough silver to compete, especially if you craft or find some other way of making coin on the market.

You can do the same illegally on any game.

This game it seems does not allow the payer to have more abilities than the normal player.

It's not like you cap everything out, and then spend 10 bucks to take it up a notch.

I've struggled to get logged in, it has a lot of technical issues/gremlins to work through. The tech discussion page is full of people who cant log in or are having problems.

Should be a good game in 2019.

Gear is all player crafted and it's full loot PvP. So yeah you can buy gear, and then turn around and have it taken right from you. Though I guess you could just buy gear and then sit in town, or sit in the blue/yellow zone forever, so then you wouldn't lose it, but you wouldn't be of use to anyone either. Gotta risk it for the biscuit.

Stuck at the loading screen, epic music (which isn't bad) playing over and over... just doesn't connect. I've tried disabling my firewall, running as an administrator, running in compatibility modes... nothing.

I don't mind waiting til it launches but they need to sort their shit out, and it would be good to play before then.

Hmm, I've heard of people having issues if they were using a public connection, and sometimes people have had to reinstall.

The closest bug I've heard of was a black screen bug people were getting where upon logging in their screen would just be black but they were in-game.(could hear footsteps and everything)

Have you made a thread on the bug forums? If not I could post one up and see if the devs respond.

Sucks that you're having issues though man, Albion is definitely one of the best MMOs I've played in years, and that's coming from someone who has played 90's MMO emulators almost exclusively since WoW came around and ruined everything. Especially with the patch released today, finally making open PvP in the royal lands feasible, the game is in a real good place.
