In case you really ought to know

Tonight may have been the first pvp fight you have had on this server. I'm not going to start pointing fingers but I noticed a few people didn't fully understand how to engage in a pvp battle. Here are a few pointers in case you are the type of person who really ought to know how to function in pvp.

TIP 1. Have multiple Assists keys ready for multiple people in case one is removed from the fight via pumice or death.

TIP 2. Have Pumice Ready to click when your assists calls for you to focus a target. Click your Macro ( Tip #1) followed by your pumice. With you and 30+ other people trying to preform this basic task if even 8 of you manage to pull it off the target will now be buffless making for an easy kill or them fleeing the scene.

These are two easy things you can do to make sure you are contributing to a PvP fight. Remember to not get discouraged and just keep at it champ and you'll be on your way to slaying nerds in no time!

BONUS TIP!

Clickies are items that can be instantly clicked to create buffs that will help negate or fully negate the effects of pumice ( Tip #2). Here are a few that you can try for yourself.

It isn't cool to see 30 unnamed crazy animated smelled running around as a PvP tactic, not part of game design it's a pro meta game strategy that probably shouldn't be possible.

I saw that PvP vid with all skeletons it looks ridiculous and means u gotta use little target window and macros for all your operations and just guess who is who and where . Very chaotic. I would do it if I was in the battle but I'd rather no one be able to so it except maybe holder of said AON or whatever.

It's a tough one. It's classic though.

I realize the first post is half in jest, as much of the content on these forums is, but I want to thank you Jeni for placing this information clearly on the main forums.

I know the collective eye-rolls of R99 veterans have begun, but many new players who have found themselves fighting in 50's group PvP still do not have this very basic and effective tactic stamped into habit yet. A player without buffs is a player with one foot in the grave!

I can recall many mass fights where a force began to slip because every player thought they would be the hero to jump into the fray and start swinging/casting. Agree ahead of time on who will call targets, have them make | /gu assist me on %t | hotkeys. Hotkeys hotkeys hotkeys! Trying to cycle through 'nearest PC' in a 20 v 20 fight will get you killed. | /assist *shotcaller* | and/or | /target *designated target* |

I know not everyone is a lightning-fast typist and will not be modifying macro's mid-fight, but just having a couple pre-made | /target | hotkeys for obvious targets like enchanters/clerics will always help. Looking forward to your next post!

Nope! You mean snare and root? And root and sow? Those pairs of spells stack. Snare should overwrite sow.

I remember that sow stacked with some movement inhibitor in velious and did not stack here for some time.

Best place to get pro tips is to ask your guild and be an open fully noobie about everything and let them give u pro tips like jenni shared here.

Join any guild and ask as many questions as u can and you will learn pvp strategies in everquest. most of them are preparedness. I have like 3X my normal HP when I am full buffed and I can self buff basically all of my slots.
