Yes I was griefed that one time I died while boxing a shaman. Good times were jousting 360 degrees and the channeling radius being doubled or tripled you didn't have to corner cast.

Those were the best of days. Before pvp level reduction, the removal of xp loss on pvp death, and worse of all... the "play nice policy" :(

I'm fairly certain you only killed me once while I was naked and we were grouped in qeynos hills. I think we were traveling and I was afk.

No one has killed me five times on any pvp server, let alone beta. I don't even think any one person has actually been able to kill me twice.

The only person I recall ever killing me in beta was cwall, in rathe mountains. I was medding from hill giants and he killed me with a gatorsmash.

Bingo, it also coincided with some blue content release I think? With everything going against it red still had 600 people at launch and Blackburrow was like Aleppo. Everyone blames red's failures exclusively on its community but there were so many factors playing against it from the very beginning.

It's a guarantee that people would play classic era just to dig into it. On blue and red today only stuff worthwhile is on the snow. On red99rallosrennaissance it's another game entirely and u can rock out and hunt twinks at level 10.

EverQuest would be a lot better if the focus was on dungeon crawling with most end game loot coming from groupable content, and with some sort of BOTW style durability system that keeps you grinding.

Also towns and faction should matter more and there should be some sort of infamy system. Maybe you need food or shelter or something I dunno.

I don't even bother buying any new mmorpg's anymore, because they just arn't going to put out our game. there is no "market" for our game.

the only game they put out is something that a 8 year old has to be able to play. put an 8 year old on EQ, he wont be able to figure anything out, put an 8 year old on wow he will be lvl 60 in 2 weeks.

Main thing I remember about pop is twinks patrolling the books waiting to zoom off to safety if they got even remotely close to death before the end of item loot with ldon augments.

Real Everquest especially classic there is no easy escape if things go south in lguk you are dead and most classes ain't getting back down there too easily.

Going to war in classic eq geared for victory meant a real risk it was good times and maybe best game ever. So dangerous.
