Half Elf vs. Wood Elf Bard?

I've narrowed down the choice of race for my bard to either be Wood Elf or Half Elf. Which is the better choice for either looks or min/maxing and why?

So far this is what I've learned:
Half Elf if you want to look like Robocop, Wood Elf if you don't.
Half Elf has better starting stats.
Half Elf has safer faction due to being Neutral.
Wood Elf has Forage and a slightly better Hide.
Wood Elf can wear Small Armor, Half Elf can't.
Wood Elf has sweet abs.

Anything else?

Or, play whichever you like the look of most, cause with the exception of after acquiring the illusion masks you will be staring at this character a very long time, nothing else truly matters.

Seriously though, back in original launch EQ I quite clearly remember getting to the level of the first brass song and seeing that flamboyant prancing dance for the 1st time and without any regrets deleting my guy bard and the likely month or so it took to reach level 18 back then for the only female character I ever created. Loved this class but wow, that dance was painful to see.

However, its trivial to get a DEF mask and then your helm graphic is better than either WEF or HEF. Also, HEF cannot wear DRT (https://wiki.project1999.com/Dwarven_Ringmail_Tunic) while WEF can. But that matters a lot less now that Velious is out with Vindi BP being arguably BIS for bards.

I'm stuck between wood elf and human. I don't like half elf so much. I either want to have the awesome eyepatch badass face, which would look cool as a bard or rogue, or be a wood elf tree hugger. I'm wondering if either race has any better itemization though to make me consider

With Velious out, itemization is the same between them. There's a PD robe (https://wiki.project1999.com/Robe_of_the_Azure_Sky) that humans can wear, but both can wear Vindi BP (https://wiki.project1999.com/Chestplate_of_Vindication), its better, and he's up every 8 hours.
