View Full Version : Requesting GM Reconsideration of Toxic Behavior

Greetings,

The purpose of this letter is to address an issue that my friend experienced in-game a couple days ago. He was in South Karana, camping Quillmane on his 54 Bard. After about 5-6 hours of being unlucky, he finally got Quillmane to spawn! If you're unfamiliar with this NPC, it's a lvl 30 Warrior and is tough for it's level and I'll explain why this is relevant later.

After killing Quillmane, my friend logged off his 54 Bard and on to his 51 Rogue (same account), to pick-up the cloak. As he walks over to the corpse, a player named Pikel asks if he could get the leggings from Quillmane if they drop. My friend replies, "sure, meet me at the bridge and i'll bring them to you."

As my friend is waiting for the corpse to "unlock" the player, Pikel, comes running up and is hovering over the corpse. As you might guess, they're now both trying to loot it as fast as they can. Unfortunately, Pikel the lvl 23, who cannot kill Quillmane himself and is out of range to PvP, loots the Pegasus Feather Cloak.

Not only did Pikel ninja-loot the item, he spammed /ooc gloating about it, linked it to my friend at least 3 times and was extremely rude.

My friend, Mercenery, has searched for assistance through petitioning and was directed to the forums to the "higher powers," was denied justice and I quote: "Hi there, I see your Quillmane kill and that it was ninja-looted. On the red server, we do not reimburse items that are looted after the corpse unlocks. It's fair game." What a joke response. You admit you know it was ninja-looted but are too lazy to do something about it?

This kind of toxic behavior SHOULD NOT be tolerated and it sets a tone for future players. Trust is paramount and important in MMORPG's, in my opinion. If you want to enforce the NO MULTI-BOX rule: 1st offense 30 day suspension, 2nd offense permanent suspension! Then you need to do the right thing here!

Thanks,

Celeborn

Not sure how I feel about this. I would expect classic policies to be followed in such cases.

And yeah if a player like Pikel camped quill he would probably multi box or have a friend

i've personally gotten people suspended for far longer than they were supposed to on numerous occasions for ninja looting

sounds like you suck at practicing elf law

that being said, this is not surprising whatsoever as the rules are entirely made up as you go on red99; the CSR staff is a joke

You're playin' on the wrong server if you want equality and all that jizz.

1. Gms dont give a shit about the server (proven fact)
2. Never let ur guard down on red99
3. 9/10 times that "new player" is some vet trying 2 do exactly as you described 2 take screenshots and put them on external hard drives to gloat over.
4. Lesson is: server is full of asshats but if you dont roll with the punches you'll end up hating it, in the end it gets funner.

This new and temporary GM is clearly uneducated on the difference between an out of range ninja looter and in range ninja looter.

Not surprised.

Cylock routinely gives false information in regards to he rules. In discord, he has openly admitted that he refuses to read related threads as well.

That said, this is a case of stolen ground transfer not ninja looting.

I think when a dragon is killed it isn't permitted for people to just steal loot and say "sorry" even when corpse is unlocked and lootable. Quillmane is no dragon but I thought this was similar story?

The difference is simple.

In a raid situation, if you walk up on a level 10 and loot an item, no one there can stop you, you just clicked faster than them.

In this situation, the guy killed a mob and then logged off. No one is there.

Pretty cut and dry

He did camp one character to another, but it sounds like the corpse wasn't open. IDK, the rules are sketch here but in general oor players looting a corpse, open or not has been against the rules. People have eaten suspensions for doing this on dragons and such, even when then corpse opens.

I had someone ninja loot a Tstaff from me. Months later it was resolved by them destroying the plat the ninja looter got for selling it and banning him. They said it wouldn't be fair for me to get the Tstaff since someone innocent bought it. They also never gave me the plat the other guy received. It wouldn't surprise me if nothing was done and they just told me it was later but I had completely lost interest by the time it was "resolved" anyways.

If you don't spend your free time socializing with the GMs they won't handle it properly unless it is general maintenance like a corpse retrieval. If any discretion is needed they fail.

Jeff I'm not trying to be a retard here..are you saying that by camping out it becomes full open game for whoever can loot it first regardless of any kind of claim?

I think op or his pal was actually there first.

Really just asking because I've never dealt with any of this stuff here.

OP & his pal are the same person.

Quillmane is technically not even classified as a camp.

The reality is that Pikel outplayed someone who thought they could do everything by themselves.

Another broke boi punching up but you'll never put up cause ur struggling with child support payments

this one guy was talking about how he was being held in jail for 6 months without a proceeding or meaningful hearing to move to a resolution on his child support. the judge was like "well...i dont know whats going on, but you guys (the lawyers) need to figure this out because its getting ridiculous"

blue state lol. everyone that came through the court for assault and battery or menacing behavior/stalking got no time. Every time someone came through for possession of drugs, or child support, the hammer smashed them in the fucking head.

Was eye-opening to see the reality of how judges only found 2 things important enough to sentence to jail.

Saw Pikel the other day in Southern Karana while my buddy and I were trying for a Quillmane spawn!

He sent me a tell "U guys doin Quill?" and I replied "Yep! Most Certainly!" and he replied "GL then."

Which I thought was somewhat ambiguous.

Stayed in zone creepily checking on us and running around the grassy plain.

If you are unsatisfied with a particular Guides Ruling, petition with a request to speak to the GM.
