View Full Version : Secondary item choice - shield vs. resists

Obviously for wisdom classes there exist a lot of different options for secondary items. Right now I'm rocking a Book of Obulus myself (I'm a druid) but I've definitely caught myself flipping back and forth between something like the Crystal Chitin Shield or even the Sarnak Battle Shield since I'm over 200 WIS.

My logic for not doing so basically boils down to resists vs. raw AC. Realistically I only take a few whacks from a mob maybe when I'm at the very tail end of recasting a charm and very very infrequently in a group setting. What I find happens more is catching a caster that's on it's way into the group either as an add or main target and for one reason or another, it tosses a nuke/AE my way. I find that these spells tend to hit harder than the mob's melee would, thus my logic is that having the higher resists benefit me more than the raw AC from a similar shield item would. My whole point in posting this is to gather thoughts from the community on the same subject. What do you tend towards, AC or resists?

Resists. Sarnak Battle Shield is a great option.
