Server stops responding while zoning.

Starting tonight 02/01/2011 at about 9:00PM CST I keep getting kicked out of the game while zoning. I have changed nothing with my install, and no crazy UI modifications.

Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? This is the first time I have had any problems like this at all.

I started getting this problem very recently as well, when all I changed was the graphics (from this thread: http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2482). Is there possibly a server-side issue? I've heard lots of people just suddenly getting this problem.

I also have been seeing this at the start of the month. Game does not load next zone. Have not changed anything on my end and have been playing on 2 PC's and having the issue on both.

I had a similar issue, last night around 9pm CET (8pm GMT). I was zoning from GFay to LFay and server became *very* unresponsive. Eventually kicked me, I relogged with lots of timeouts on login screen and server select, and loooong login time. Then it got lots worse zoning into Castle Mistmoore.

I was experiencing heavy connection problems to project1999.org and even the wiki (moestaverne) at the same time. However, my internet connection was working normal as always- to lots of other sites. Resetted modem and router -> no effect.

After about 30-40 minutes, I could finally log back into Mistmoore and it seems like the issues subsided after that.

This is exactly what I get. Despite my internet working just fine, every time I try to log back in there are really long timeouts. I have to keep closing and reopening the program to get it to work.

Is there any data we can post to be helpful, so that someone can figure out what the issue is? It is extremely important to me that I be able to zone like I used to.

I used to just get this just in towns and now I'm getting it world wide.

Same thing has just happened to me just now and I haven't changed anything. Try to zone then wait wait wait eq not responding...grrrrr from qeynos to karana's

Just crashed while zoning and when I enter the server select screen, there ain't no servers to chose from.

I had this problem before and now zoning works just fine. Pretty much all I did was unplug and replug my router. I have started using WinEQ2 and I've also only been playing on the Beta server, but I'm pretty sure this was happening even when I tried WinEQ2, and I don't see how the Beta server would get rid of this problem.

I dont know if the response to the server is bad or if my internet was just being a shitpile, but I also unplugged and replugged my router and modem and the problem ceased. Tends to happen infrequently still though, so I just switched to wired. Have seen a definitely increase in sitting at the loading screen doing nothing, wonder what it is.

Japan, and I have a fiber optic connection, so I'lll be damned if its on my end :(

I wasn't referring that the issue was at your end, but maybe the route it takes to the P99 server.

I could say that 90+% of the people who play here don't get dropped on zoning so the issue isn't with us or with the servers either..

Maybe running a tracert to the p99 servers may give you a better idea of the issue?

Same problem for me since the same date. Northern California here. If anyone gets a fix for this i would really appreciate it. This is making the game unenjoyable to the extreme. I would also like to note this started happening for me DIRECTLY after they took the server down the other night. Like I was playing fine, then i went to go get some taco bell, server got taken down, come back, try playing and now its screwed while i zone.
