Researcher's Badge rat tiles did not despawn

The rat tiles ("Healthy Rats") did not despawn when I did the final turn-in for Researcher's Badge. Neither did the empty tile "ghost NPCs".

Now you can turn the 3 jars into Velarte Selire. After doing so he will despawn along with the rats.

Velarte Selire himself did despawn correctly.

Update: it looks like they had a delayed despawn ~15 minutes later.

All rats will despawn with final turn in to Velarte.
