Black screen when running windowed mode.

Suddenly i can't run windowed mode anymore. I have to set it to FALSE in eqclient.ini or the screen will just be black (but with the cursor showing) when i load the game. Doesn't matter if i run wineq2 or just launch it from the bat file. Game has been running as normal for a couple of weeks on a new laptop until this suddenly happened over night.

Any suggestions?

Edit: If i try to put it in windowed mode while in game i get the "failed to reset device ()" error message (or something similar)

Just want to add this info.

"Error: ResetDevice () failed"
Is a known titanium client problem that will never be fixed.

And it will inevitably happen after you alt+enter enough times or even the first time.
This error would be thrown if DirectX failed to reset the Direct3D device.

Did you update anything since then. You might of pissed of EQ.

I would start from fresh with a new ini. Backup the old one and let the game make a new one.

Havent done anything regarding settings that i know of but ill try deleting the ini. Theres a possibility that nvidia updated the drivers automatically tho. Thanks for the tips.

No, its just my laptop monitor.

Hmm so this seems to only happen in 1920x1080 resolution. When i do the 1680x1050 im fine, but its a little annoying.

I have 4 monitors now, and I play p99 fine, Windowed AND Fullscreen.
Even when only 2 were hooked up, still worked fine.
That is an old myth (www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231905) that is NOT true.

I do not use wineq or eqplaynice.

I'll record a video if you don't believe me.

I cant choose anything between 16xx and 19xx resolution. Unless this is doable in the config? Hmm, have to give this a go when i get home from work.

Weird this just happened to me as well, seems just over the last few days.

I did notice on my laptop its only seeing the Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 when it also* has a Nvidia GTX 970m.

I tried assigning the 970 as the preferred gfx but didn't change anything. I loaded a good copy of eq and it didn't help either.
