[Rasler]

I've just created a monk and geared him up. This is a budget build for the most part. Enough weight left for carrying food, water and bandages in side a Lionhide Backpack (8 Capacity, 35% Weight Reduction, 0.4 WT) I thought I would share this for anyone looking to gear up a monk.

Neck: Chipped Velium Amulet (30 HP, 4 AC, 4 STR, 0.1 WT)

Back: Spider Fur Cloak (10 AC, 4 STR, 4 STA, 6 SVCOLD, 0.0 WT)

It seems you don't have a waist item? Or is that where your haste item is ?

Additionally I think you'd benefit from replacing your rings with two 65+hp and having additional resist rings in your bags

Really the text spam is inconsequential to me. I have most of my text going to various windows and the box where the "You be thirstay" message goes to is hardly read. Make a separate chat window for spell casts and life is good

You don't need drank as a monk because you need to be constantly thirsty for dragon blood, and you need this reminder every sever tick.

You will end up with Black Sapphire Electrum Earrings so really may as well spend the money at creation on them.

Head: Executioner's Hood (5 AC, 4 STR, 9 DEX, 0.2 WT)

That's just a dreadful choice. Ideally you want to spend the 1500pp on Circlet of Vallon but if you want to save cash you can make do with Crystal Chitin Circlet or a FIne Silk Turban

Face: Sarnak-Hide Mask (6 AC, 5 STR, 0.4 WT)

Again, just dreadful. Targishin's Bone Mask is 50 plat. Get one.

Wrist: Tar goo strands (20 HP, 5 AC, 3 STR, -5 SVFIRE, 4 SVDISEASE, 4 SVPOISON, 0.8 WT)

The weight on these is annoying, it's slot where Black Panthercrap actually fills a role.

Legs: Feathered Leggings (4 AC, 7 STA, 2.0 WT)

Way too much weight for way too little AC. If you really want budget, just grab Wu's. But really you should use the weight to get Oiled Greaves. There are only three items in the game, all late NToV items, which are better for a Monk so the 3k for Oiled Greaves will give a very long term benefit.

Feet: Shimmering Terror Hide Boots (10 AC, 4 STR, 4 DEX, 4 AGI, 2 SVFIRE, 2 SVCOLD, 2 SVMAGIC, 2.0 WT)

Much like legs, you really should invest the money in Barbed Dragonscale Boots. Again, there are only three items in the game which are better and all are very late game NToV loots.

Finger: Rune Etched Wedding Band (15 HP, 2 AC, 3 STR, 4 STA, 6 AGI, 8 SVDISEASE, 8 SVPOISON, 0.1 WT)
Finger: Platinum Fire Wedding Ring (55 HP, 5 AC, 0.1 WT)

Again, like the ear, you will end up with Velium Fire Wedding so you may as well start with them. They are also under 500pp each these days so no reason not to.

Primary: Jade Made (9 DMG, 18 DELAY, 2.1 WT)
Secondary: Knuckle Dusters (14 DMG, 28 DELAY, 1.0 WT)
Range: Totem of the Warrior Spirit (10 HP, 3 STR, 0.0 WT)

Knuckle Duster is a good cash saver over a second Jade Mace, as well as better for weight. As for Range, it's really not worth the bother until quite late in the game, just stick your shuriken in there and forget about it.

You don't mention a haste item or waist slot. Get Silver Chitin Hand Wraps and replace them with a Sash of the Dragonborn when you get your Epic. Ideally a Spider Fur Belt in the waist slot.

You're 12.3 weight set up actually has slots you can completely remove the item and you're AC will actually rise (the feathered leggings, the bracers possibly). Remember you will need some bags and some stuff in them, you need to budget about 5 units for inventory at a minimum.

You can carrying Batwing Crunchies or something that weighs 0.1. Or if you're an Iksar, just Forage everytime its off CD.

Yeah Rasler thats no problem you'll obtain gear upgrades as you progress. At early levels I wouldn't worry about your weight/AC too much as it's going to be hard to manage without significant investment into WR bags. You're off to a good start :)
