I know this is beat to death, I just have a very specific question.

Everyone discusses soloing WW dragons on a shaman. Many make it seem like only ogres can do this.

Can all races accomplish this? How much harder is it on an iksar vs. ogre?

I find it hard to believe that only ogres can do this, or that it's really that much easier.

Barb shaman were soloing WW dragons way back in the day on live, ogre has a slight edge but it's not necessary to roll an ogre to solo.

I mained a barb shaman on live and solo'd WW dragons in the Velious era. Frontal stun immunity would have been nice I'm sure, but I would have quit EQ if I had to invest the time I did on shaman, staring at ogre or troll ass all day for years. That being said, I would have rolled iksar if they were available at launch.

Most of the dragons in WW are not hard. Any shaman with torpor, epic and a good melee weapon can take them out. Even all those arent required. Just know what resist you need, whether they gate or are just completely out of your league. Choose your battles, choose your battlefield...adds are the worst

A 60 shaman without torpor or epic could probably solo yeldema

Nothing like a Double Dragon DP party to get things messy...

The wife's Shaman is a Barbarian and it's easy for her to solo many of the West Wastes dragons, as others have indicated. In many cases the only tricky part is pulling them without getting adds. Bashes (and hence bash immunity) are a nonissue for those.

Ogre bash resist usually comes into play more when you're in some dungeon and inadvertently pull 3 or 4 monsters and wind up with several unslowed things beating on you. Even then bash resistance isn't necessary, but in that sort of situation it does help some. Ultimately you should pick whatever Shaman race you think looks the best because in the end that's really the factor that matters most.
