I've been leveling my necro on spectres in oasis on and off from 40-44, and for a few days when my bonechips seemed to be disappearing I wrote it off as "oh, I must have miscounted them earlier" or something.

But this morning I came out here with 40 bonechips. I summoned 2 pets, was at 36 bonechips, and since then leveled for about 90 minutes. Since I summoned my two pets, I have only cast drain spirit, vampiric curse, dooming darkness, invoke fear, augment death, feign death (maybe didn't cast this, can't remember), call of bones, and used my jboots... but I am down to 33 bone chips.

What gives? I am absolutely positive that I did not somehow summon more pets than I remember, or sell/drop a partial stack of bonechips, or start off with fewer than 40.

Do necro pets consume a different number of bone chips based on the level of the spell?

I know Enchanter pets go 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, etc. as the spell levels increase.

Some levels of the summon seem to require 1, some 2. Not sure if the same spell sometimes takes 1 and sometimes takes 2. Pretty sure they never take more than 2.

And even if they did, I had 36 bonechips after my 2 pet summons, and then cast no more spells that are supposed to use bonechips. Where did those other 3 go? :(

Figured it out. Was using numb the dead (the level 4, undead-only pacify), which apparently uses 1 bonechip per cast.

In the process though, I've learned that a lull whose description says it has a level cap actually is working on NPCs above the level cap.

Did you bug report it?

It's not a bug. Lulls shouldn't have level caps yet.
