I recently started an Iskar Monk and bought 2 Jade Maces, a Peacebringer, and SCHW along with 55hp rings and some other low end items. I made this character to solo when I have a shorter period of time to play or expect frequent interruptions and can FD and go AFK.

I have found old threads with a lot of great information on which weapons are the best dps at each level but not too many that discuss what is best for soloing. Ideally, I would like to pick something that I can use from roughly lvl 20 to 40ish without having to keep buyin and selling weapons.

Given my solo play style and that I don't really expect this character to get past the mid 40s is the Peacebringer a good fit? Ideally, I would like to keep the Peacebringer and sell both maces to pay for spells on my main.

Is this a bad idea and if so what would be the reccomended Weapon/weapons? Thanks for the help!

Yeah pretty much you want to twist a decent 2h with Fists if your soloing. Click your weapon onto cursor every time you hit with it, then put it back after you punch.

Thanks for the reply! I have read about that but I feel like that will get very tedious and I'm not sure I will do that all the time. If I don't do that will Peacebringer with low end haste still be a respectable setup starting at 20 until 40ish?

Thanks again.

i don't know shit about monks but from what i've seen people do, use a 2h while soloing for 1337 riposte dps if you don't wanna do the weapon swap thing. its handy to know how to do that for more difficult mobs but there's not much of a need for casual soloing most of the time. still a good skill to learn. IFS seems to last people till 60.

PB will work fine. IFS is lighter and better rstio and will outperform PB from 30 until whenever primary and DMG bonus pulls PB ahead, some time in 50s. PB gonna offer better DPS 20-30 though due to the 60dmg cap at that level range ^^ Overall I prefer IFS for reasons listed ^^

Thank you all very much! I'll plan on keeping the jade maces to 20 then selling them and using Peaevringer. Once I get 30 I'll flip the PB for IFS. Thanks again!

Sorry to slightly necro this thread, but what is the bonus to swapping 2h weap for fists after you swing it? I've never heard this mentioned before but you guys seem to talk about it like its common knowledge and now I'm worried I've been missing some epiphany.

*After days of trecking you finally make it to the top of the mountain in the Thicket of Misty. Towering Menhirs, erected in ancient times surround you. Lightning is in the air, understudies of the Stormlord reside nearby.

Karana isn't the only violent god with followers in the area. Rallos Zek is also paid tribute to. And not, as you might expect, only by the orcs and goblins of the area.

There is rumoured to be one upon this mountain that is a master of tactics and strategy. This is the one you have come to see.

On a toppled menhir you spot a tall figure sitting crossed legged. His head bowed in prayer. If he were to stand he would be over three, maybe even four foot high. A tear of jealousy rolls down your cheek as you spy his magnificent paunch. Without a doubt this is the one you seek. Master Jimjam Dog, so named for his feral cunning and his love of bread-wrapped sausages.

You take a knee.

"Master Jimjam!" you garble in awe, "Please, divulge to me the secrets off the 2h weapon for fists technique. Teach me the ways of War, oh champion of Rallos Zek. The Tactics and Strategy of Tallon and Vallon Zek. Praise also to Rolfron Zek, the hound of war, the deity to whom you are an avatar!"

The Master looks up. You realise now he was not in prayer, but was feasting upon a Misty Thicket picnic.

"Fetch me a Lendel's Lager from the Fools Gold Inn and surely you shall learn..." he splutters.*

Swinging a two handed weapon doesn't reset your off hand's timer.

As such, when you unequip/re-equip your 2hb between swings your offhand fist will be able to attempt a duel wield check.

With practice, you can get pretty close to the usual offhand dps even when using a 2 handed weapon with this technique.

Good luck, young monk! Remember to feed me beer if you see me in game!
