I've making a game and it's going to be fantastical, which is why I haven't been on much. Square Enix may pick it up, too. Seen at GDC/Unite. Free keys to my trollish buddies until 11/22 (after that, I'm too lazy to keep checking forum). Anyway the trailer just came out:

I get youre trying to promote your game and all, but you should probably make up something more believeable then Square Enix.

Square Enix setting a precedent for their company by supporting a Kickstarter campaign, and they choose this junk? You have literally the same game concept as a Starcraft 2 MP map, with graphics on your video that's worse then the original Sims. And that's a polished video, so the actual game play must look even more horrendous.

It's actually awesome as hell you are making a game, but you are advertising it to the wrong crowd. Try a forum where the population is a lot younger on average. Adults tend to know the difference between a gourmet pizza and Totinos pizza rolls.

It's like you don't even realize why you are HERE PLAYING ON AN EMULATED BOX. This is the stuff that sells, its cheap to make and it sells, it fucking sells. thats all that matters. also, yes square enix would totally do this, the entire landscape is all about pushing indie games like this up from a kickstarter campaign to gather loyal following and then buying the game outright at a reduced rate.

honestly, the more starters we pull off the dolphins the better. 2nd string is better. lol. Everyone on the dolphins is to resigned to just being ok, the dolphins team has always been about oh u get to move to miami and enjoy the nightlife and try to do ur best on the field.

even players with the best intentions end up becoming that way in miami.

To answer a few questions:

* There is no "actual" fighting in this game in a traditional sense - it's a "social deduction" genre game. Your objective is to find who you can trust and dispose of the rest. So you do kill if others, but not in the sense that you'd think. It's a social manipulation game with 100+ abilities you can use to either kill people off or trick them into doing something to get themselves killed.

* I only charged broker fee for that one guy because he's nub and was really fun to see him QQ ;D still mad! But in all seriousness, I really did sell for that other guy. He'd let me keep a %. I almost made as much as middle-manning Skyshrine spell runs when Velious first came out.

* Made with Unity engine. We're one of the first to use their new multiplayer engine, "UNET", commercially.

* The voiceover was inexpensive, but I thought he was pretty badass. I'd hire him again for a minor role.

* Yep this took a lot of effort - I guess good things happen when my wife yells at me to take an EQ break O__o *awkward silence*

* There are many games that were similar, but really weak (like a CS/SC mod) -- all based on the 1986 werewolf/mafia genre. This is hopefully a "flagship" spinoff rather than a cheap knockoff. Ubisoft just came out with a "werewolf" game "Werewolves Within" that's also a spinoff. They're VR only and no chat. Looks awesome, but I imagine spoiled (HTC Vive = $800) 10-year old kids yelling on top of each other.

* Square Enix has a "collective" program that sponsors tons of people. We ended up skipping it because it takes 6-8 months for them to help you, IF approved, and I've already quit my job. Now or never.

So the Kickstarter (https://tol.wikia.com/Kickstarter) = January 9th. 2 keys for $10. But PM me and I'll give beta keys away (alpha = kickstarter perk).

Someone elsewhere asked about some EQ inspirations. We went with 'Murkan badass artstyle inspired by EQ for almost all of our portraits. We put 1 God so far in our game, Mithras. I bet you can guess where the inspiration came from:
