FLORIDA - Florida voters overwhelmingly approved a state constitutional amendment Tuesday to legalize medical marijuana, broadening access to pot beyond the limited therapeutic uses approved by the legislature two years ago.

The amendment passed with 71 percent of voters approving of the measure.

I dont smoke anymore but I may have to go back its only thing that helped my severe pain with 2 ruptured disc 3 pinched nerves and 2 torn muscles in my right shoulder.

If those people ingested some THC and/or Cannibinoids they wouldn't have broken the law.

Well done Florida. Hopefully Texas follows soon. The rhetoric wheels have been put into motion, the best thing governor Perry did.

Nah if you understood chronic pain Spyder you would know Cannabis is much better than Pain pills, which I currently take, recently specially here in North Florida the FDA has cut down on it which is a good thing imo but at the same time people that really hurt suffer.

Not only that all the jails and prisons are full of people who have gone due to Cannabis, its really quite sad because people get long jail time for small posessions.

I'm looking forward to trying THC again and dropping all the pills for pain.

with whoever trump appoints as AG (Guliani, or christy) I wouldnt be suprised if the medical marijuana thing is set back entirely. the DEA hasnt rescheduled it. Lets see if republicans still want to rekindle the war on drugs.

Pfft bro once we build the wall they will federally legalize marijuana and it will be a new national export. See how the taco bowls like it when we steal their jobs.

People that think marijuana should be illegal but are totally fine with cigarettes and alcohol being sold need to have their heads examined. Marijuana is far less dangerous.

Its always been about taxation, if they could tax it in the past they would have legalized it sooner I want to say. Glad the world is slowly coming around to it. Needs to happen in England and other places too.

alcohol and cigarettes both have natural mechanisms that prevent normal humans from abusing them extensively. pot is far easier for a decent person to fall into abusing.

Not sayin I agree with prohibition, just sayin maybe there are more important things to worry about politically than increasing the number of available vices! especially when it isn't a matter of principle and you're leaving decent psychedelics schedule 1! hope this helps

I agree with ya Japan. Its a gateway drug (lol) it is though but I prefer it over taking a bunch of pills for chronic pain. Def isnt near as bad as smoking cigs.

Just finding the right strain for anxiety and pain is what I gotta find out, I havent been into it in a long time.

What is this, some consolation prize? Progressives get run out on a rail and now they want to fight to bring back their prohibition again? The utopian nanny state is done for, and it might come to a point where you will need to get up in the morning and decide what's good for yourself rather than how to regulate, control and tax your neighbors.

Its a gateway drug (lol)
Not really. The main problem with pot imo is that it's sold by drug pushers often times. So you go to buy pot, and the pusher is pushing other drugs, dangerous drugs, even giving free samples. That's how it's a gateway drug.

Guess you never been to rehab, been a dealer or been around drug's that much. I sold weed and strictly weed for years. Started trying pills to help anxiety and pain.

Almost every person that has got on hard drugs started with Cannabis first, not saying everyone goes to hard drugs or pills from Cannabis but its very likely that you can.

Was it the FBI or the CIA that got caught trafficking drugs from Mexico/South America? I read that somewhere and it wasn't an Alex Jones thing.

Started trying pills to help anxiety and pain. That's presumptuous considering my first run into college was focused around counseling and then working with drug rehab patients as they transitioned back into regular employment. But hey, you sell drugs, you got a handle on it.

Nevada voted affirmatively for recreational use, albeit with a much tighter margin than Florida, but I'll take it.

I wouldn't use it though, the stuff messes up your brain. Alcohol is actually good for you if you don't abuse it, like most anything. Saying it's not as bad as alcohol is just trying to justify something by degrees of it's danger, but still remaining dangerous. This isn't as bad as that so it must not be bad? But since when has alcohol been bad if not abused?

If we are going to justify things by extreme comparison, how is pot any good if a person is high 24/7 compared to someone that drinks two beers a week? I don't have a big problem with it because if people are going to be dumb, they may as well smoke pot since it's less prone to extreme behaviors in public. If abusers are going to abuse, they are best abusing pot rather than anything else, sit on their couches as they trip and get fat.

My main concern is long-term health implications. But studies are still out, however suggestions of things like dementia attributed to the use of pot can be an issue. But at least on the flip side, people that take pain pills, those are being found to have effects that numbs peoples empathy towards others; makes them just not care.

Like the fact that this "vice" (read: medicine for some people) is clogging our (for profit) jails. Yeah, there are bigger issues than fighting for freedom and medicine and clearing out our overburdened prison system with non violent people who just wanted to get high...

Not sure how alcohol and cigarettes both have "natural mechanisms" that prevent abuse considering they are both very addictive...

"Drinking more than one drink a day for women or two drinks for men increases the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, and stroke.[29] Risk is greater in younger people due to binge drinking which may result in violence or accidents.[29] About 3.3 million deaths (5.9% of all deaths) are believed to be due to alcohol each year"

"Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including nearly 42,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day. On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers."

go ahead and tell me how many people a year die because of weed...
tell me how many people have ever become addicted to weed...
how many college kids get hospitalized for weed every year? How about drinking? I guess puking your guts out and dying could be called a "natural abuse prevention mechanic" but all you're really saying is these 2 substances are so harmful you'll die if you abuse them so people won't abuse them! That's incredibly dumb.

Do people abuse weed? Yes, the difference is its harmless even if abused AND people will continue to abuse and use it despite it being illegal, keeping it illegal just makes drug cartels rich/ causes drug violence / forces people to buy unregulated/untested/untaxed drugs / fills our prisons with people that were going to do nothing all day anyway so locking them up was kinda of pointless/expensive. But worst of all is you're denying an incredible medicine to people that desperately need it, ergo: people with epilepsy, cancer, arthritis, chronic pain, migraines... ect ect, I'm not going to tell you what simple google search would because if you're to stupid/lazy/coolaid drinking to do it yourself my words won't change you, maybe next you can tell me how opiate pain killers are non addicts and healthy alternatives (lol).

You must be low iq/ a big pharma employ(but you play this game so you're not employed lol, guess we know which it is)

Don't even know who that is. ^^spotted the guy spewing nonsense and unable to back any of the dumb shit bouncing around in his head.

Tell me more about the wonders of tobacco and alcohol, tell me of all their potent medical qualities.

Weed is legal in CO, has been for years. I don't really give a shit about your shitty state while I walk across the street and buy legal weed for dirt cheep and smoke without a care in the world, cause its legal.

And if you cared to learn the facts instead of believing your own unsupported shitty ideas you'd know that in colorado underage smoking has DECREASED. Violent drug related crimes have DECREASED. And we made a shitload of money off the taxes...which we poured back into schools and education. Have fun arresting people for getting high so they can contribute nothing and leech off the system in prison, guess you don't care cause you don't make enough to pay taxes, dipshit.
