Looks like the biggest one since the summer sale. I just got some last week, so only dropped in a $20 for this sale. Having a hard time deciding though..
Some ones I'd recommend that are on sale: (links are all trailers)
The Long Dark (https://youtu.be/diRPolJzmjc).
Pinball FX2 plants vs zombies table (https://youtu.be/ZelKLRyQHG4) (that ones excellent - medium difficulty table) and the walking dead table (https://youtu.be/tIwy2TQqnmA), those on sale like 75 cents each. The FX2 game is free, just the tables they charge for.
Orcs Must Die (https://youtu.be/5RUQTh0DHAY) is on sale for a first person TD game. OMD2 has multi-player, but I haven't played it.
Uplink (https://youtu.be/pSasSTni5lI) >.> It's also in the Introversion Complete Pack on sale. I have all three games but got them separately (Uplink yeeeears ago), only just got DEFCON today though I've played it before. Don't ever bother with Uplink mobile unless you have a tablet. It's nice on my tablet, but on my cell it's an unreadable PC port.
So far I've only picked up the walking dead table and DEFCON (https://youtu.be/TGHC_aInRPE). I wouldn't have gotten DEFCON, but I just saw a really good mod for it called DEFCON Modern Warfare (no trailer vid, only a multiplayer game) which brings the glorious mutually assured destruction to the modern scenarios and tech. Oh and picked up RavenSword (https://youtu.be/-odAqqGImTM), only because I have the Android version which is actually pretty good on that platform, PC a little clunky they say. But I said why not PC since it's 69 cents on sale, it's still playable.
The conundrum is I'm loading these onto my laptop, which is a dual core running an intel HD 4000. Not too bad, plays Skyrim, but some new stuff is a bit much for it.
I'm mainly looking for a couple or few strategy games. I almost picked up Galactic Civilizations III, it's 50% off atm, ah but decided not to. Mainly because the battles are a bit generic, most just turn it off. If I were buying more than one game right now, I'd might get it. But I'll just wait until it goes on sale again since I want something with a little more action right now.
But what I am looking at is:
Space Pirates and Zombies (https://youtu.be/xpW1PGLVdnE). Great looking game but it doesn't have twin-stick control. II is a little heavy for my lappy.
AI War: Fleet Command (https://youtu.be/VESt7xUBRtc). I downloaded the demo, played part of the tutorial, looks promising. Bundle is on sale too, prolly what I'd get if I decide on that one. Looks fully mouse driven too, a bonus, so I can smash beetles in one hand and eat pizza with the other.
Plague Inc: Evolved (https://youtu.be/pSat_gLDXPc). No demo, but watched some vids. It doesn't have any combat action, but the map play looks pretty smart and fast. I can trigger the zombie apocalypse! That one is probably at the top of the list, close to AI War. I bet AtG has this game, maybe mobile.
Auralux: Constellations (https://youtu.be/_dqqQ-mp6Uk). This one just released, I've played the Android version and liked it, this isn't a port. It's almost abstract and has some groovy-space lights and sound/music.
The Last Federation (https://youtu.be/7yWi8boNgEs). A little unique being turn based action space shooter semi-4x or something something.
Any tips on these games? Or some other suggestions on sale in the low range? It's always nice buying like $100 worth in games for like $15 lol
But man, there are like pages and pages and pages and pages of stuff on sale. You buy anything off this sale? I think my SSD is going to barf from all the gluttony there.

Dead by daylight on sale, good game. Ah way beyond what my lappy can take. But interesting looking game.
Risk of rain is kinda fun if you haven't played that yet.Yeah I haven't played it. I'm lacking platformers too right now. I put it in my bookmarks, it'll likely go on sale sometime. I have like one platformer installed atm, and that's super mario on my emu.
Oh here is one I totally forgot to list, was reminded seeing that platformer.
Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition (https://youtu.be/zG1RIEnTb64)
It's on sale right now too, for $2.49. I've had the android version since launch, and this is a port to PC etc. I've been thinking of getting the PC version, really good RPG game, but I can always just run it in an android emulator.

Good games go on sale too you know. I guess just depends on what you think is good for you. My top recommendation is still the long dark, but really for people that are outdoorsy, which is me bigtime with my many many trail boots worn out. But still a niche game.
Really, imo best games are the ones you can mod or find lots of mods for. Or even games where you just build your own thing like portal 2, minecraft or Gary's mod. Heck, just a game engine with basic game functions you can drop in - is loads of fun haha.
But yeah, if most mmo's didn't crash and burn with all this f2p junk that targets a few weak people for their big money, then I could go back to being happy ignoring most other genres.
btw picked up Plague inc, which was inevitable. Oddly the tutorial wouldn't work, was stuck on a pop-up window, but the regular game worked fine while not hard to figure out. First game went really well, was nice. Ravensword worked fine too, they must have cleaned it up some. Even more so reminds me of elder scrolls now that I have it running on a regular computer rather than on my tablet. Feels a lot like morrowind, but not the same environment.

My problem with Long Dark is you ruin the concept of the game by reading about it. With Mist you weren't sure exactly what to expect or what you were playing. THIS WAS REAL GAMING. THE GOLDEN AGE. NOBODY KNEW WHAT MIST REALLY WAS, THAT MADE IT THRILLING. THERE COULD BE THREATS??? WE DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It obviously has no eminent threats, no thrills. Because we can read about a synopsis, check a trailer, and realize what the game is precisely.
F.E.A.R. had thrills (FPS genre, extreme horror very terrifying to play. Still gives me the shakes)
Long Dark apparently won't have any threats to the player. Its a true survival game based on surviving an environment that can't elicit any real surprises. I'd say that's a fair assessment without having you spoil the game and point out theres X Y Z hostile surprises in the game.

What Steam REALLY needs is more survival games incorporating minecraft style crafting........

mmmm it's not that at all, respectably. It'sssssss.... and realistic open-world survival simulator. Well, as realistic as possible while remaining a "game" for enjoyment. But excluding zombies and dinosaurs, ya know? hehe. It's more of an adult age open-world game, sometimes too slow, sometimes too fast. But always brutal.
Yes the elements. Harder at the beginning for that. But most times I die are to bears or wolves. Even once, I died to a bear, a pack of wolves, then froze to death trying to crawl back to shelter in a night time blizzard as I trailed all my blood. Then I guess vultures finished my caucus the next day lol since it's perma-death. It's friggen brutal lol. Game of the year as far as I'm concerned, and it's still in early access.
When it first whent to early access, it was a bit easy they say, but they fixed that :D I especially like the sound ambience. I stick my good headphones on as I sneak through the forest. I mean by the time you hear it, it may be too late. It's the only game that seems to keep me on edge, where every little distant patter or some shadow moves and you gotta be ready to react or face a possible sudden game loss. And you can probably just sneak though the world and find less trouble, but then it's not just the bears or the wolves or the weather or dysentery trying to kill you, but time itself has made itself a fatal enemy to your cause.
But like I said, it's more for outdoorsy people. If you like to backpack, fish, hunt, camp etc, this is an essential game. If not so much then probably other things of interest. But it's not like MYST, which was a game I liked a ton, played it through many times. Reading won't help.

I will always recommend Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. I believe it is on sale for 4-5$. It's kinda old tho, and generally requires an unoffical patch.

Conundrum resolved. Dug deep into steam and found this: RC Simulation 2.0 (https://youtu.be/NTfZrdVq5qM) Got it for the quadcopters in the sandbox (make your own tracks). Has mixed reviews but mostly bad ones from early on in early access. Runs ok on my lappy, as long as I avoid water. A bit of a bonus to me to have the Rubicon sandbox. I already have an RC track racer, so the rest isn't important.
With what's left in the steam wallet, got the Brutal Legend (https://youtu.be/IcVgQJoihlM) port. The rest stays on the list for another time, I'm done searching steam for the rest of the year :p

Yeah there are a lot of those. I like minecraft, but it stops there. But then for space, best thing imo is Space Engineers (https://youtu.be/2FRu9p-3Ois). But it's not a minecraft clone, just a build survival, mostly build. Poor lappy won't run it :( I'll need to rebuild my desktop before I can zip and pew my way through space again. I especially liked making guided ballistic missiles.

Pras. It's old and unfinished but remains arguably the most complete and ambitious RPG to date.

I was digging the Forest for a while, but it got a little out of hand when I built a wall around one of the main camps of the cannibals. Funny at first, pain in the ass later. Dunno why the image is being loaded upside down, but you get the idea.

Holy trannyquest, Batman! You see Steam today? I am hating on Steam now!
Over 13,000 titles on sale. I think that's the most I've ever seen. Make America Great Again, I guess :)
But not only that, Pinball FX2 is about to drop us a Bethesda 3 pack, though two weeks away :( Here is the store link, looks great http://store.steampowered.com/app/559840

Yeah looks like almost everything. They are not deep cuts, but avg prolly in the 50% range. I picked up Arma 2, since I can't run my Arma 3 copy on my laptop and Arma 1 is a little too old though runs fine.
Those Bethesda tables are looking really good though, I'm looking forward to those. I was just hoping they'd make a Skyrim table, but dang a Fallout and Doom table too! The Doom table looks the best from the pics, nice flow, but it looks like that Skyrim table has the most potential for animated characters fighting on the table, including dragons.
And the game will do dragons very well, there is one on the Castle Storm table, you trigger it to fly in and breath fire and stuff, sets the table on fire. Then it has like the Vikings rushing at you from across the table in a raid and you gotta kill them off with the ball like on plants vs zombies and the aliens table too. But yeah, player character standing on the left there on the Skyrim table, there is going to be some fighting to be had :D
