I made a character there. Got boring pretty fast. Pretty low population, and everyone basically grinds the same 2 or 3 zones while mentored (level synced).

XI was nothin but a generic version of EQ. Critical design flaws like the one above. They also have this dick player philosophy where its cool to just steal mobs even if people have been camping them for hours.

I mean if you wanna stick to .4 apm and communism that's your choice, I'm just opening the door. No one's gonna make you step through it until you're comfortable doing so.

Competition exists in the real world without having to fight to hold your property on a daily basis. Competition exists in EQ even if there isn't total anarchy. You race to spawns all the time and even if content is claimed, you compete to progress using diplomacy, negotiation and collaboration. Maybe you can't get what you want, so you trade for it. Maybe you can't get a spawn, so you join their group.

Then of course you have rarer spawns on longer timers that are up for grabs.

Plenty of competition without anarchy.

There's fighting, it just isn't usually physical in the real world.

If that shopkeeper doesn't one up his competition, he loses customers and money. Then he can't pay rent. Then he loses his business.

It isn't total anarchy either. It comes down to FTE. If you don't tag it, you don't get it.

These are not difficult concepts, and you're a reasonably intelligent fellow. It does however sound like someone snagged Leaping Lizzie or something and you're still raw about it.

Consider nasomi, home of competition and legit GMs who lack favoritism

Like I said, plenty of ways to compete without stealing a camp. If a mob requires the spawns to be cleared, and you spent the time doing it, you should have the rights to it. There are always going to be mobs that you can't clear to spawn like random pops and raid mobs that you can fight over with FTE.

Anything less is cowardly bullshit unless you can pvp over it. Its stealing with no recourse.

This is why I only play on pvp servers anyway.

Rick I already said you don't have to play if you don't think you can hang. A good player can steal the claim back if someone snags it, but whatevs.

Any brave souls who denounce communism shoot me a PM if you make a toon, I'll get you started

Depends on what kind of character you like playing. Nothing is really underplayed, because of the ability to change jobs. DNC isnt in this version. It's all the original jobs, the extra jobs added by CoP (SAM, NIN, DRG ect), and COR and PUP. The Puppetmaster pet doesn't cast at the moment, just works like a monk npc basically, but that's being worked on.

Shoot me a PM if you make a toon, we'll get up and kill some shit
