So I'm currently level 52 but have no fungi or Earthcaller but have Swiftwind and sky cloak. I play in off peak hours so groups are hit and miss but mostly miss. What are some good fear kiting spots 52+? I think WW was mentioned but are there enough mobs to make it worthwhile and which mobs are considered animals in that zone? Are there any other zones people would recommend besides permafrost bear pits? Ive seen some other threads similar to this but each kind of goes off in a different direction and the question is forgotten without many suggestions given.

Some Tigers are still blue in OT at 51. Don't know about 52 as they are starting to green out.
Are there any velious giffons that can be animal feared of an appropriate level? I too will be watching this thread with interest.

If you are friendly to Dragons, then WW is the place. Mammoths, Rhinos, Wolves. They don't summon, as long as you keep them feared you should be good. The biggest problem is, when they respawn they have a chance to spawn a Wyvern in their place, dwindling the population.

That's because there's only a certain number of places fearable expable animalable 50+. It's a tool you have. But the reality is there's not very many places to utilize it. Look on wiki for zones w/ animals and look at their level range. If you're waiting for a great outside the box suggestion, bear pits was it.
The biggest problem is, when they respawn they have a chance to spawn a Wyvern in their place, dwindling the population.
Which sucks so incredibly bad. I had at one point thought for sure that WW was gonna be the holy grail of ranger soloing. Shared spawn points ruin the zone until it reboots again.

I think you could probably do rhinos and walruses in EW until 54 or 55.
My advice, though, would be to spend 50pp on a Swarmcaller and stick to the lowest possible blue-con mobs you can. The trio of ogre mercenaries in EW is a good spot (solid faction, too) where you can single-pull with harmony and enjoy 6-minute respawns. If you don't mind trashing barbarian faction, you could also use the same strategy with guards in Everfrost.
Really, though, if you can find even one other person to group with, you'll level much more quickly and less painlessly than you will soloing as a 50-plus ranger. Even with, say, a fearing SK partner, you could kite stuff like geonids in WL. This as an alternative to a shaman, cleric, or necro partner for more traditional indoor xp.
Oh, and what about Sol B sonic bats?

How about fear kiting spots for 30+?
Ranger is currently 34 and doing cougars in IC. Wondering if there are any better old world spots (less hp and whatnot) I could hit to level up before it's time to hit kunark/vel

I don't think you can find a place that beats alligators in CT at that level. Good through 36 or so.

If you want to stay in IC the wolves on the portal rings Island is a tad higher than Cougars, but can be a drag to pull and share spawn with giants (I Think). Overthere has tigressess and Rhinos of differing levels that can be killed through many levels, Think I was there between 37-48 or so off and on. Also plenty off other people passing through for random buffage and easy to find ports out.

Griffons will take you close to 50. North Karana is a good spot for them, especially if the rabid griffons still spawn. Might need to wait a few levels until you can start doing them.
Probably stuff you can do in Overthere. Some tigers con blue at least till 51.

Im here now , face tanking though in the hallway between the blue and green water pools. Is there a safe way to use panic animal here? I'm nervous they will aggro the ones in water. I guess any advice here would be helpful, thanks!

Updating here, been face tanking until I clear the hallway. once respawns start i pull them towards the middle/closerish to the green pool. Seems that the fear well is in the blue pool and they path along that way. They do enter the pool, which is a pain, I've gotten it down to where fear should wear off before that however, if not I root them.
It's pretty good exp at 35, easier than iceclad
Seems like you got it figured out by now! When you get into the rythm you should be able to clear the whole tunnel between the pools before respawn. I had a rogue join me for some a well which was good fun, we cleared the whole pool(3) as well.
I found that when fearing with my back towards this spot (red arrow) they would stop just before the water at latest:

Just levelling up a Ranger now, and a mere level 36, but here's what I can offer so far on my experiences, for the lower level Rangers:
- at 22, when you get Panic Animal, the DW crocs in Oasis are easy pickings. This can easily take you to 23/24ish. From here, I grouped until 30 in Highkeep.
- at 30, the cougars in Iceclad were *amazing* xp. I fear kited these all the way to 35 with absolutely no concerns. In that entire time I had *one* add, and had to root park them and camp to clear aggro, but that was the only glitch. Very safe spot. Very good xp. And managed to get 6 earrings in those 5 levels (2 for me; sold 4 at 200p/ea).
- at 35, I moved over to the teleport circle area and picked on dire wolves. Slightly tougher, but much better xp. This got me to 36 without a problem.
- at 36, I've now moved to Overthere. It seems the OT level spread is very similar to Iceclad: Cougars = Rhinos; Dire Wolves = Sabertooth tigers/tigresses, for the most part. So this was more of a lateral switch than an improvement, but it is certainly easier to get groups here if you decide you want a break from kiting; and it could be my imagination, but xp seemed a *little* better in OT. I could be wrong though.
- at 40, I'm going to consider the tigeraptors in WL. You can harmony the camp, pull singles, and kite them in front of SS. If that proves to be a profitable camp, I should be able to ride that to 42/43ish. Another option is EJ stuff, I suppose, but there's a lot of roamers to worry about there. You could also roam the karanas and fear kite griffons at this point, but I find you spend half your time tracking the rare griffon spawn than you do actually killing.

Please tell me if u find any good places when u closing in on 55. I am at 54 now and the only places I have found are:
Bearpits Permafrost (think this is too hard to keep up for a ranger?)
Bats in SolB (havent had time to investigate, is it hard to reach the zl? According to wiki its traps and see invis in there?
Roaming animails in EW/WW: Have done some but mammoths and stuff have so damn much HP it takes forever and often I run into something else adding.
Are there any other animals in old world zones that can be camped as ranger when u 54+?

Cougars in iceclad are good in the 40s. By good I mean they are there and killable and require minimum attention when you have stuff to do irl between kills.

Nothing old world will take u to 60. and I think bear pits probably be tough/impossible but maybe that's your best bet.

It is easy to get to the bats zoneline in sol B, just run through SolA with sow and invis, kill any see invis or train thru.
It's not so easy to fear kite the sonic bats, especially before you clear the 2 pathers and 2 statics that spawn there. You may need to root the mob before it gets too far otherwise you'll have a pathing spider add on to you.
With the sonic bats I found a decent strategy was to face tank as much as possible, then about 30% hp you can fear just to get it to start 'running' early (it won't get too far, as somewhere in the 20%s it will be too damaged to move with snare).
At 54 you should be able to facetank the bats pretty well, especially if you use the bind wound trick after you are finished casting. About 1/3 bats will be xp green at this point though. And one of the 4 spawns at the zoneline will be a green con goblin about 20% of the time.
It is easy to get to the bats zoneline in sol B, just run through SolA with sow and invis, kill any see invis or train thru.
What/where is the "bats zoneline"? Is reaching the bats not easiest directly from the lavastorm zone, with levi over the lava? Genuinely curious as I'm not too familiar with SolB.

So far I have only tried the mobs in EW. Blues are pretty rare there at 52 and they are long pulls to get them to a safe place to kite. The griffons are casters and will dispel your buffs if your fear breaks. They appear to run at sow speed or possibly a little faster so it is hard to get close enough to pull them unless they are standing still when you find them. Overall, they were pretty easy to take down but the exp was very slow.

On the wiki the bats zoneline is 'D' on the map.
Yes you can reach them by levi over lava, but I (and seemingly many others) prefer to solo them at the solA zoneline. Obviously you have the safety of the zoneline, making pulling/adds much easier and it isn't a long run from the camp to the goblin merchant for resupplying/ghetto banking.
When grouping bats and bugs most camps set up in the small room between the 9 and 12 on the wiki map.

Norrath needs more animals! :-) Perhaps there are still some animals in EJ that are blue to me, I will check it out.
